From personal experience, I think that there is bigger chance to win a race in T3 with good driver than in T1 with the best driver.

Well in T1 you have to be competitive on all tracks to get your sponsor points and stay in T1.

In T3 you can focus on one track type.

I agree on that, but still the largest part goes to luck (and time of the season you get it or not). That's for T1, in T3 you don't care of luck, with risky sponsor and good driver you are sure to get enough PP to be the best on aero or engine for last 3-6 races.

That's why I bought aero. And I knew not many people would buy aero because of how few aero rounds there were.
But still 20% of engine stats count on aero tracks. So I didn't think I'd be beating tier 1 teams, I thought I might get away with a podium if I'm REALLY lucky. Sort of where Hill was, but Mika impressed me so much I freaked out for about 10 seconds
