It is one of the biggest issues with the game imo. Whenever there is a collision at the start/first turns, yellow flag is waved immediately which results in the "give your position back to X" message displayed and you get a penalty if you don't obey it. How can you not overtake people in the first turn when you are 3-4 cars side by side?!
It is sometimes even more frustrating as they collide ahead of you and spin. You pass them? Bam! 2 seconds penalty!
