Note that the places are correct, but somehow Ben Utzer and James McNamara's championship positions and points are somehow the wrong way around..

So just something for everyone, a few people have made this mistake.
Your bonuses only apply to the next round of races. Once they've been run, you will receive bonuses depending on how well you do. So if you don't do as well, you won't get anything and return to base setup bank. If you do really well, you'll get your 10 or 20 skill (or 1-4 HP). It doesn't stack, you can't have any more than the max.

Oh yeah, and less than a day to go for this round guys.

KERANEN MAKES STATEMENT
yAfxaprMac.png

Aidan Keranen sent a shockwave through the FFGSC paddock with a blistering pole lap at Buddh for the first major showing from the Finnish team this season. With teammate Tim Engberink in third as well, it was a showing of serious shootout speed, though whether that means that serious trade offs are inbound for the race will remain to be seen. Dani Tottos snuck into a strong second as Falcon look for just a bit more pace to hold with the series leaders.
Speaking of series leaders, the SNL duo of Bradford and Wright held down fourth and fifth, while Luke Rosella was seventh in his Prifelli, sandwiching a strong effort from Stephan Bohner. Both Challenger cars also hit the top ten as they look to lock down a worthwhile result.

BRADFORD HOLDS OUT BOHNER

Jordan Bradford hit the winners list after a stirring drive from him in India. Suffering in the standings after two DNFs in the first round of races, the British driver has since responded for SNL Motorsport and now delivered three straight points finishes, with two podiums. Add Joseph Wright taking the championship lead by a point courtesy of third place, and the team closing to just 7 points down on Prifelli, and it was a day to celebrate at Buddh.
Stephan Bohner returned to form to take a first podium of the season, continuing the fine form that BRT find themselves in. Prifelli surprisingly will likely walk away disappointed with their effort of fourth and fifth, seeing a lot of control ceded to SNL. Falcon missed out on the top 5 just with Tottos and Utzer moving up, just ahead of polesitter Keranen.

Next race is around the corner from Suzuka..

Note that the Japanese sprint is running on the vanilla Suzuka track. Something which I may do to the Montreal rounds in future as well if it works out well enough.

ALL IS WRIGHT IN THE WET
vwxfVFVMfV.png

A torrential downpour greeted the FFGSC paddock for the Japanese qualifying session, and it was Joseph Wright and SNL Motorsport that timed it and executed it just right for pole position. Ben Utzer was the man to beat for much of the session, but lost the place at the death to his British counterpart, who is no doubt eager to extend his championship lead over Luke Rosella, the Australian managed fourth place. Alongside him, countryman Nathan Cornes had a strong session for third, while the third row was filled with a second Falcon and the second 2KF1 of Tottos and McNamara respectively.
Buddh pacesetters Keranen Motorsport locked out row 4 with Keranen and Engberink, while Jordan Bradford only got to ninth.

all in all 2 very strong rounds, india turned out as hoped for in regards to the decided setup which is nice, we knew japan was gonna be tough for us, and jordan crashing out first was proof of that, but with joseph still on the podium and prifelli scoring nothing we move on looking happily forward towards the next rounds

UTZER'S HEARTBREAK IS CORNES' JOY
sehrAr8PTR.png

Ben Utzer was making a strong case to take victory in Japan and thus allow Falcon to be only the third team in six races this season to win a race. But a late mistake under little pressure saw Nathan Cornes instead take that honour for 2KF1 Racing instead. For most of the race, Cornes was a fiesty and aggressive driver, Utzer taking a more measured approach, alas the end result was only eighth, which could be seen better than a retirement which did hit over a third of the grid.
Joseph Wright is poised to take a massive lead in the championship with his second place while Luke Rosella hit issues on the way to 14th. Sasha Jednak meanwhile took a crucial podium for Optima while boss Oorjit Mishra also scored for the team. Stephan Bohner made it two from two with fifth, while Falcon joined BRT in having the dubious honour of 3 cars in the top ten, Tottos leading in an as always consistent fourth, Rinneaho finally overcoming gremlins for sixth and the aforementioned eighth for Utzer, which could help propel the Hungarian team forwards.
Daniel Harvey snapped a DTK dry spell with seventh while Manolis Sigoulakis snatched ninth again for Challenger.

so, as we're going to a complete new track for the next round everyone goes in practically blind. as i made the track i want to rule out any doubt of an unfair advantage so here's an in-depth guide about keimola:

1200px-Keimola_Motor_Stadium_map.svg.png

the keimola motor stadium is a 3.3 kilometer high speed circuit consisting of only 8 corners. located north west of the finnish capital of helsinki the track never hosted an f1 race, although it did host a few formula 2 races with racing icons like jim clark, jack brabham and graham hill participating. the karting track located north of the circuit also marked the start of mika hakkinen's racing career.

the circuit features a 1 km long main straight, as well as plenty of elevation changes in the latter part of the lap. top speeds will be around 320 kp/h, with laps in qualifying being around a minute.

turn 1.png

Turn 1: a medium-fast double-apex right hander, at the start of the race cars are able to go 3-wide aiming for a good exit onto the 2nd straight. As the main straight is a kilometer long it gives plenty of overtaking opportunities. the braking zone is pretty short so if you get along side on the straight you'll get easily past, but if you wan't to out-brake someone going into this corner the defending driver may be able to use the width of the track to stay on the outside and come out in front again at corner exit.

turn 2.png

2nd straight and turn 2:
although the 2nd straight is much shorter than the main straight, a good exit out of turn 1 gives another great opportunity to overtake going into turn 2. even though this left hander is similar in characteristics to turn 1, the actual turn is tighter. an attacking driver who's able to get the inside line will most likely end up in front going into the next series of corners, but again defending drivers may be able to stay on the outside and try their luck going into turn 3.

forest.png

Forest section:
the forest section, and also the 2nd sector of the track, has a feeling similar to the old hockenheimring, with the cars flying past the trees closely surrounding the circuit here. turn 3 and 4 form a double apexed right-hander, where the cars will go around at medium speed, cars who've been able to stay at the outside of turn 2 have an opportunity to get ahead at the entry of turn 3, but afterwards no more proper overtaking opportunities will come up. turn 3 and 4 may prove tricky for the drivers, as missing the apex of turn 3 may results in the car understeering off and sliding through the grass into the wall. at the exit of turn 4 drivers will use as much of the exitkerb as possible to go as fast as they can through turn 5, which is more of a bend than an actual turn. turn 6 is by far the most difficult corner of the track, as the road goes upwards at entry and downwards at exit. and even though this transition is very smooth on the racing line, cars who understeer just a bit wide will hit a bump causing the car to spin out. it's key for the drivers to make 0 mistakes going through this corner, as a spin here may prove fatal, especially early on in the race.

hairpin.png

Hairpin

turn 7 is practically the exit of turn 6, with the track going downhill into the hairpin. as the corners follow eachother in quick succession drivers try to line up to get the best exit out of the hairpin, don't expect any overtaking here unless a driver makes a mistake. in the very early stages of the race the tight packed field may bunch up at the entry of turn 8, which can cause drivers at the back of the field to lose large amounts of time to the drivers at the front. the exit of turn 8 features a large kerb and plenty of run-off which allows the drivers to go on the power early and get as much speed going up the hill again onto the main straight

hopefully this guide is detailed enough for everyone to come up a good working setup, so we can have a fun and above all fair race :)

WRIGHT AND SNL MAKE THEIR MOVE
naqSHYaJyC.png

Joseph Wright burst through to the front of the championship after a double podium round for SNL, the Dutch team also taking advantage of their performance to also head the teams championship. Prifelli had a shocker, fourth and fifth behind the SNLs in India became it's first failure to score points all season in Japan, and has seen them fall 11 points behind, with lead driver Luke Rosella now 19 behind.
However, the battle for third is starting to heat up. Matt Bailey only managed 10 points for the round, and holds a single point over Dani Tottos, another consistent running from the Hungarian saw him double his Australian rival. Between third and eighth however is only 14 points. Jordan Bradford crashed out at the Suzuka esses but still holds fifth, Nathan Cornes took the win instead to hit sixth, Ben Utzer slid off with only a few laps to go but got away with seventh, while Stephan Bohner put behind a rough second round where he failed to score, to record a second and fifth and drag himself and BRT upwards.

Next round is from Hungary and Finland. Market will close at 9am Saturday AEST. After Leslie has shown off the track, would anyone be interested in seeing a quick video of it beforehand?
