SNL AND WRIGHT SECURE TITLES

SNL Motorsport and Joseph Wright have secured themselves the championship double after a scrappy final round of races for Season 1. With Luke Rosella the only driver in with a shot of taking the title, albeit in incredibly difficult circumstances, Wright needed very little in either of the races to grab the title. But with the Prifelli Racing slump continuing into it's fourth and then fifth race, the game was up, and Wright was crowned the inaugural champion.
Similarly, SNL had a sizable lead, and while the returns were meagre, the result itself was perfect, neither Prifelli nor Falcon creating any sort of points haul that would be necessary to overhaul them. In fact, the poor results for both Rosella and Prifelli meant that Ben Utzer led himself and Falcon Motorsport to second overall in both championships. For Rosella, a single point in the last round reflected his only point for the entire second half of the season, a crazy statistic for someone that was on top of the world with two wins and and a third and looking good for the championship. Utzer's two podiums to end the season though were supreme, leading the drivers in points for the round, setting the perfect base for the push.
Team Optima threw a major spanner in the works, taking two wins in two races to end the season, a major turnaround for the Indian team who were looking in serious trouble in the first half of the season. Ending with 3 wins, Season 2 would seem to be a good chance for the team to look for a championship. However, they would only take fifth after James McNamara's seventh place finish in Belgium was enough to see 2KF1 stay in front by a single point. The 50 points from Optima did however shuffle them past both BRT and DTK, the classic FFG rivals suffering tough seasons, how they respond next season will be one to watch.
And lastly with the podium for Keranen Motorsport in the final race, every team managed to score at least one podium this season, a major achievement for the new concept.

Congratulations to Joseph Wright and SNL Motorsport once more, and all relevant Season 2 information is on the way!

Fun facts i noticed about our team:
Only the bottom three teams could not get a win - and the runner-up.

Also: The highest placed drivers without a win in the standings are both from Falcon, too: Dani in 9th and me in 2nd position.
