I really like F1Metrics as they use a statistical approach. They try rank drivers whilst compensating for team differences by virtue of mathematical model and comparing drivers to all their teammates over time, which can lead to some interesting things like A greatest drivers of all times list that tries not to look at car performances. Super interesting if you're a nerd (like me!). Also quite interesting if you aren't. Check it out

Fair play though, F1 has been a joke for the drivers championship over the last 4 years due to the stupidly dominant Mercedes....

I know, ultimately all algorithms (like this one) are someone's opinion but I like this particular opinion because somebody put a lot of thought behind it.
