Alright when was that again.....?

I never like motorcycle racing. My old man used to drag me to stupid events, but passing is so easy when the vehicle is so thin. Just real dangerous when you fly of the bike. When people say F1 is dangerous its nothing compared to Moto GP. I like my racing on 4 wheels.

Lol at the people saying its good for the people and good to see Williams carry on..

They will asset strip and and grind it down over the next few years.

Williams history is better than the last few years so personally the sooner they get put to sleep the better...

Claire is maybe a nice person but she shouldn't take that job. it's cutthroat business for gentle her.
Perhaps F1 in general isn't for a woman ? Monisha Kaltenborn is another fresh example.

"The Strategic Review was a useful process to go through and proved that both Formula One and Williams have credibility and value....When we started this process, we wanted to find a partner who shared the same passion and values, who recognised the team’s potential and who could unlock its power."
"We believe we are the ideal partner for the company due to our flexible and patient investment style...We look forward to working with the Williams team in carrying out a detailed review of the business to determine in which areas new investment should be directed."

I love this wonderfull newspeak. It's so sincere, so poetic. It really touches my heart.

A sad end for one of the great f1 teams; one just knew this was on the cards when they sold the technical a twelvemonth ago. I guess they are another casualty of hybrid-era.

Does anyone know if this includes Williams Advanced Engineering? I don't know what their corporate structure looks like.
Well, they have sold much of that company's stakes during previous years that now they are a minority stake holders, very minor, so they almost have nothing in there (they have sold it slowly to provide cash flow for F1 team) and now the new buyer will have that minority in Williams Advanced Engineering too.

The process will likely be this :
they have bought Williams as an investment firm expecting two things
1. they can cut costs
2. the new Concorde agreement will produce a profit for the team and its value rises. Then Williams will be up for sale again.

I saw this on twitter written by someone (it was exactly what i was thinking) and i believe that will the reality of it.

Guessing this is just a very weird coincidence - "Williams has sold up to BCE Limited, a fund which is managed by Dorilton Capital Management LLC (Dorilton Capital), ......"

What must the odds be on a fund buying into F1 that happens to have the same initials as a certain short older gentleman who had a big hand in F1....a Mr Bernard Charles Ecclestone

Uncanny !

Well I was having quite a good friday until I read that. One of the great British teams, sold off to an investment firm, and not even a British one at that. Hopefully a British organization gets interested when it inevitably goes up for sale again soon. A condition of sale should have been to retain the Williams name. Very sad :(

Even though Haas has sort of let me down on this front, I am looking forward to some American-style sponsorships! I want to see the Williams car festooned nose-to-tail with all sorts of gaudy commercial logos! :p

I'll also be looking forward to the George Russell post race interview wherein he tells us "the Cheetos/Mt Dew Williams Racing car was runnin' reaaaaaaal good today!" He is wearing a hat with Chester Cheeto on it and he looks glorious.

Hopefully it will continue on like McLaren. Bruce ran it until he died, then Teddy Mayer ran it for a while, then Ron Dennis, and now Zak Brown. All of whom have had success running the team, and Zak seems to have them heading in the right direction again. Hopefully the new managers at Williams can find a strong person to lead it back to the front. I miss the Nigel Mansell days.

Sad day to see.. Goodbye to Williams, name wont last there long even tho what they say. There should be some kinda heritage-thingy, like also with some races that they should be always there no matter what. It's going to be a very weird day not to see Williams name anywhere around. But many has left sadly, Benetton, Jordan, Arrows, Tyrrell, Minardi, Lotus, Sauber etc... Names that should be there always. :( But a British legendary team sold by daughter to a bunch of Americans... Newer though i will see this day..
