F1 Off Topic Thread

Here's a question. Myself and the missus are thinking of taking a little holiday and trying to combine it with a GP, probably one in Europe.

Anyone done this from the UK or have suggestions or experience to help me out?
Preferably it would be a sunny GP, so Spa is out :D

The good weather is almost guaranteed (considering places and dates) for Barcelona, Montecarlo, Valencia and Monza. I don't know about Budapest, probably too. I guess montecarlo is automatically out of the budget.

German GP is usually very affordable, but the threat of bad weather is as present as in the case of spa.

I'd go for Monza, as Monte Carlo is $$$ and the two Spanish GPs are snoozefests.

Yeah cheers guys. We are looking into Monza now. Looks like we can get 3 days, with VIP for both Sat and Sun, all in for about 2.5k.
Sure seems like a lot considering the sort of places you could go for 2 weeks on that sort of money - but its not F1 is it!

EDIT: Wow... if they will do the same type of things like i´ve seen in the first couple of minutes of the show then Sky Sports is in another dimension compared to BBC.

How about Brundle talking to Di Resta while he´s in the car for the first day of testing at Silverstone, asking him how the car feels and Di Resta responds while going through Copse2 :)

really a completely different level of F1 coverage it seems!
 
I caught the last 20 mins of it last night. Excellent show.
I love how they've got the RB7 in the studio for in-depth explanations on certain aspects of the car and functions.
The interactive screen is good as well. Taking a page out of Monday Night Football's book :)
 
Yea it´s really on another level. Probably simply due to a bigger budget then BBC as i´m sure they would have cooked up similar stuff themselves.

I think most of the shows are split in clips on youtube now.
Best part was Brundle talking to Di Resta as he´s driving the car for the first time just chatting away while taking a turn near flat :)
