The AMG Mercedes team have revealed a new livery ahead of Formula One restarting in Austria, showcasing a striking black design as opposed to the traditional silver arrow of recent seasons.

Becoming the second team to revise their livery ahead of the new season, following on from Williams losing title sponsor ROKiT (ironically, likely to be heading to Mercedes), the freshly designed styling is indeed a welcome departure from the standard silver livery that has adorned the Mercedes cars in one form or another since their return to Grand Prix racing for the 2010 season.

No doubt Codemasters will be annoyed, with the Mercedes and Williams announcement of the last few days the upcoming F1 2020 video game, set to release on July 10th, is already set to be out of date from a design perspective before it even releases!

Still waiting for Hamilton to quit Mercedes based on their links to slavery during WW2.... or for him to end his personal association with Hugo Boss for their use of forced labour during the same period. Maybe the victims weren't of the right skin colour for people to care in this day and age?

I miss the 90s~00s you know... we just wanted to see cool movies, cool cars, athletes doing their best, nobody (and by that I mean huge majority) cared if the guy was black, white, pink, man or woman or alien. People that didn't care back then are starting to get angry and not in a good way. My brother and sister are black so I worry about them a lot, this **** will backfire big time

Personally it doesn't bother me whether you're black/white/Asian etc. If you're decent towards me I will be decent back and also if I show someone respect I expect it in return. I've never not been friends or socialised with someone based on their skin colour or their race. Butt I think forcing it down peoples throats is too far and thats why people are getting angry. Its not because theyre racist its because the message is being put across in the wrong way.

Why should Hamilton quit Mercedes because of something the company did over 70 years ago? If that's the way you think, you yourself should probably not buy any clothes as most of them are produced in sweatshops in Asia, and don't buy any food as a lot of it is sold by companies belonging to the Nestlé corporation, etc.

True, the whole black versus white discussion is very polarised.
I guess everybody wants to have a say and I won't judge, because racism and discrimination are all out there. Just hope everything tunes down a bit, so we can talk about cars and racing again.
