F1 2019 F1 2019 | Update V1.20 Now Live on All Platforms

A brand spanking new patch has been released for F1 2019 from Codemasters....

With the real season well and truly over and done with, and development upgrades to the official videogame appearing to have slowed somewhat in recent weeks and months... the new V1.22 update that dropped recently came as something of a surprise for F1 2019 players, and it's full of pretty good stuff too - just check out the update notes below -

General

• Safety car deployment frequency has been adjusted so that it is more likely to come out within race sessions.
• Addressed an issue where the Logitech G29 rotary dial could not be assigned in a clockwise direction
• Further stability fixes

Leagues

• Users can now save between sessions in private leagues.
• Users can now add reserves in private leagues.

Xbox

• Keyboard support has been added.

Career

• Addressed an issue where progress would not be saved in Practice 1 in Australia of a new career.
• Addressed an issue where a selected team-mate would change if the user exited the game before completing Practice 1 in Australia of a new career
• Addressed an issue where DNFs would incorrectly show with the fastest lap indicator in the season results tab
• Addressed an issue where Butler and Weber would appear after skipping the F2 Feeder Series if the user quit in Practice 1 of Australia
• User will now be warned before purchasing upgrades towards the end of a season if the department has experienced a regulation change

Multiplayer

• Addressed an issue where the camera selection would not save if selected in a multiplayer session

Spectator

• User can now enable the track map for the session they are spectating

Events

• Users can now manually navigate through the weekly event prizes

Safety car deployment frequency has been adjusted so that it is more likely to come out within race sessions.

Oh god, knowing Codemasters we'll now go from seeing a safety car in a very blue moon to running a 53 lap race with 52 laps under safety car.

I did two races since this update and I have the relalistic damage mod installed. First one was Singapore, and it was as mental as irl races. Three SC's and the AI and I had to swtich strategies throughout the whole race.
Second race was Sochi and a SC came out when one car had a technical failure which screwed my strategy but it's so good that stuff like that finally happens.

Yes, I am no Bernie Ecclestone, but comparing to all other sims, The tyre wear is so high.

Is there a way not to wait for those videos and interviews with that same guy telling the same things?

Why is the keyboard controls so weird, Really Codemasters aren't competent enough to fix that 2 f2 1 f1 weird buttons thing?

VR support? Codemasters? Now adays a 5€ game supports VR, and Codies ask for 55?

I don't know, when I close F1 2019 and start driving ACC, the difference in what I feel is really huge, The look, the sound and above all the driving feel are of another level.

Welp, I just raced in Suzuka and the first 10 laps were nearly all SC. First a T1 crash took out 3 cars and 4 laps after the restart Giovinazzi crashed and brought it out again. Helped me to get to P4 after starting last tho.

There is a big difference, indeed, but I don't mind. Each game has its own style and that's fine with me. I find both games deliver what they promise us.

codemasters with F1 and rally are the top of simracing, without doubt, with SMS, they will dominate the GT sim racing. Congratz for the best developper.

Yeah i agree, ACC is of a whole different level, i am a F1 Fan, but ACC is what i drive mostly nowadays.

Update: I am very sorry about 1 wrong info I gave, now the enter button is working to skip videos unlike before.. weirddd.

Still the other useful criticism is valid, example when I set 2 races (grande prix) in a raw, I choose "Harder" set of tyres for the first race, the second race will be set to "balanced" despite me.

Also I could not choose other than the Softs for the race starts!

1 new thing you guys can check, if I am not leading they deploy safety car so I catch the rest, and if I am leading they never deploy safety car.

they don't need to update for the few VR users, maybe one day, but it's not in the plans.

I don't know if VR users are few or not, but it's a market they are loosing. And I would love to play this game (in VR).

when they are the only one with F1 licence, they don't lose anything, they sell more copies than KUNOS, S397, SECTOR3, IRACING, SMS, MILESTONE, KYLOTONN....
Sorry, they get the crown....they don't need VR.....maybe one day, only if they want.
