Check out these interesting comparison shots between F1 2018 and the upcoming 2019 version of the game.

Having already confirmed the new game is set for a June release date, and that the title will benefit from improved graphics throughout the game, Codemasters have taken the decision to put their money where their mouth is with some interesting back to back comparison pictures of the new game compared to F1 2018 - using this weekends location for the real series, Monaco, as the backdrop for the new images.

"After the big visual improvements across the board in F1® 2018, this year the art team has focussed on a number of circuits, including Monaco which is the flagship event in the F1® calendar" said Stuart Campbell, Art Director for F1 2019 at Codemasters

"We have increased the building fidelity with higher resolution geometry and a lot of the previously textured elements now have a full geometry pass, which is perfectly demonstrated in turn one heading up to the casino. We’ve increased object placement and crowd density which provides more interest and realism and brings greater depth so the player gets a better sense of the atmosphere during the race weekend.

From a surface perspective, new scan-based tarmac adds to the realism by giving better light response on the track surface. We are incredibly proud of the work the team has put in and we know our players will notice and appreciate the difference when they play F1® 2019 in a month’s time.
"

Definitely looks like rehash of the exact same game, do people really pay for the same game again and again every year, sounds like a great idea for the developers.
Much more lucrative than just an update and a re-shade.
No wonder it still does not have VR, it would necessitate a new game.
Those guys know they’re audience.

add Tyre Reflection
add Light WhiteBalance modification
add Fog all over the screen

Release a new game.

They don't even change 3D other than Halo, not even track textures seems to be different, building, kerbs, etc etc etc, everything placed on the same spot.... Recycle a game every year= Arcade game
