That was great fun, I suggested Hungaroring for this week but didnt know it would be this version I had never driven it before, but it turned out to be a really good couple of races and I had my first podiums in 92 a 3rd and a 2nd

That was an interesting race. Race1 someone spun in front of me and I bent the car. It was perfectly set for oval racing but not too good for hungaroring where you turn right sometimes.
Race 2 was a bit better and I finished 4th. At some point I went up to third but I think one of the leaders had spun out and he didn't waste time catching me.
It seems to me there are a few specialists on this mod that are several seconds a lap faster then us hacks. It is a tough mod to get to know. With Quali tires it drives pretty well but starting with the soft tires on, grip is a bit finicky.
Actually, let me rephrase, grip would be fine if the steering wasn't so jerky at times. I think the steering is dependent on the brakes and give a bit too much brake and the car just goes elsewhere from where I point it. Not always, just sometimes, which is what makes it difficult. It's unpredictable.

Then I loaded a 1990 mod I have. They are almost the same exact cars and drivers but the driving is a lot more predictable. The grip is similar, but it won;t change direction in the middle of the turn just for the hell of it.
I know I am leaving at least 20% in performance on the track because I am so afraid top spin out. So if someone knows the secret to driving this cars at peak performance, please let me know. I'd love to keep racing this mod, but after the races I am always a nervous wreck

Have you driven GP79 Scott ? the manual is a work of art let alone the mod.
This weekend was great for me.
1* quali i got 2* position with 1.20.4 ,i guess .But not even close of my hero Ferry.
On the 1* race was great i got a good start and got first place.But the (Ferry) Super-man was flying behide me,but i was holding him as much i could.I saw the replay and understood what happend when Ferry tryed to pass me.I was on my line and ferry tryed to pass me from outside,i reaaly dont saw how much space you had there.I was just tring to make that turn without make any mistake.Really sorry Ferry.
On 2* quali i was a lot better.
I did pole with 1,19,5 .
The start of 2* race was good for me.I got some pressure on the start ,but i start to control my mind and start to run a little better.My best time on the 2* race was 1,23,4.

Didn't get much practice in for this event as when loading up the track, I got called away urgently. Eventually made it to the server just before Official Practice.
Quali 1: Very happy with the lap, a lot quicker than I thought I would be and took 4th.
Race 1: Made a good start and immediately got past Martin. I kept up with Ferry and Mohan for the first couple of laps but then spun on lap 3 allowing Martin past. I chased after Martin but we both kept making mistakes which meant the gap fluctuated a lot. Ferry retired so I was up to 3rd and caught right up with Martin with only a couple of laps to go but he ran wide at turn 1, allowing me through to finish 2nd.
Quali 2: Better than Q1 but still 4th.
Race 2: Made another good start but couldn't gain a position. I was all over the back of Chas until he suddenly disappeared in front of me. I was now in third and closing on Martin. Got within a couple of seconds but then a backmarker span right in front of me in turn 2. I had no chance to avoid to lost my front wing and suspension was bent. I managed to drag it back to the pits but by now I was 6th and last. I came out but had to protect the engine for a couple of laps to allow it to cool. I got past a couple of cars as they span off and then caught up with Corrado. I saw a gap down the inside into the chicane and took my chance. I then took some time out of Martin although I think that was because of a few mistakes he made and I finished 3rd.
Rather disappointed with the mass exodus after race 1 which meant we had a small grid for race 2.

I wonder why we lost so many drivers for race 2. It isn't one of my favorite tracks, but the racing was fun. It's always fun to race.
The same happened last week as well.
I struggled all week with this track,untill last night when i used Scotts suspension settings(thankyou), tweaked the anti-roll a little,then i had a stable car i could push with! From 1:27s down to the 1:25s,it felt good.
Q1- a mess! I let Ferry pass me on the out lap and spent the next 2 laps behind him,smoke pouring out his car,so badly i couldn't see a thing!
I pitted and tried again but i caught some slower guys who i had to get aggresive to get passed them for my flying lap.
P5 with a 1:22.5 i think.
R1-I made a poor start but kept it on the grey stuff......untill turn 2 when i lost the rear a little and N Cole tagged my back end just enough to spin me right round, then Conti got into me too. A sorry to Leonard as i joined in front of him and then drove over the grass at turn 3/4 to pass him :-s for P10.
I spent a lap behind Martinho,just waiting,he was slow through the faster chicanes and when i made a pass at the last chicane he turned into me. I eventually passed him at turn 1. Now P7.
Another sorry goes to Mark as we touched in the last chicane as i got up the inside on entry,we touched and i spun a little,down to P9.
I got P8 when Mark went off track. Lap 5 i passed Scott on entry into turn 1 for P7. Again too much time lost behind Martinho,almost pushing me off at turn 6 as we ran side by side,with me on the racing line.........i passed him at turn 8 for P5 then i passed N Cole exiting turn 4.
I finished P4. I should have done better!
Q2- managed to get a good lap in and got P3 on a 1:21.249 pipped by Martin i was P4.
I made a good start and passed Adam for P3,he stayed on my gearbox for the first lap and a half untill i pushed a little and started to close the gap to Martin.
Lap 3 the car felt great and i could push like crazy! Untill lap 4................................................................................................
I got a full blue screen appear on me as i approached the left hander,then a 'beep'! Blue screen disapears and i see my desktop with a little "HP" update centre message!! OMG i mean............what?? I cancelled it and launched game from toolbar to find myself near the pit entry with damage to the right side of the car.
I made a pit stop and rejoined in last place. Scott was 19 seconds ahead of me so i decided to make him the target and started to push....the car felt awfull in the fast turns,i was 3 seconds a lap slower than before. Mohan wasn't far off lapping me so i decided to retire the car tonight. A poor night for me i'm sad to say. I think Adam,Martin and could have had a great battle in R2.

I'm really sorry guys for not staying to 2nd race. It was really late, about an hour before race I thought I'll have short nap (my 1st race, I did wrong math on time zones and thought race gonna be much earlier), got awake just before race but my brain wasn't there (guess that's the reason I spun and lost wheel soon after start). For next race I will just treat it as early morning and get solid sleep before.
Well that wasnt the race as i hoped fore. In quali i was ok i knew it wouldnt be that hard to get pole. (sorry about the smoke Chas, didnt intend to do, but probably because of the low speed on the strait the enigine could not cool down enough. I noticed it just on the end of quali when it was to late.)
Start of the race was again terible i dont know but i realy have a bad setup to do a good start. before coming in turn 1 i was on P3 but luckely Adam overshoot the turn and there i was behind Mohan. To bad he is always telling how bad he is while he isnt because he was putting in a nice pace. A few times i did an atempt to overtake him but he closed the door. in lap 7 or 8 not sure any more i did put in some more pressure and i was next to him on the strait on the end of first sector and then sudenly he came to me and gave me no room at all to stay on track and there i damaged the car and came on the grass and losed 5 secs. Andafter the touch the car wasnt driving the way it did before.
Iam not sure but some times it looks like some people are not turned on the rear mirrors or they are not using them. But after a few laps on 4 secs behind mohan a backmarker didnt gave any room and at that moment my engine wasnt overheating but it was me that was at maximimum heat and deside it was beter to stop because i didnt want to ruin other peoples race because of this.
Mohan no need to say sorry if you turned on your mirrors but just made a mistake. But when they were not turned on as i think it was the case. Then its a big shame and then you realy have to change it before next race. i did not remember the name of the guy who said in the chat before race that he wasnt using hs rear mirrors at all. But to me it look like that you have no respect fore other drivers at all.
After a good night sleep again i know i cant handle it when i lose a race, And again it points me out to the fact that iam not sure if i want to continu simracing.
Dont take it to hard whats writen above but try to improve your self when you think its about you thats all.
