AC Escort RS1600 @ Brands Hatch - Wed 24 July 2019

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
if you are using CM (and maybe even in the original AC launcher) it's best to search for "raced" or "racedep". Searching for "racedepartment" can sometimes jump some servers that do not have caps lock in the name. don't know why :unsure:

What is CM ?

Should I select any of these?

Okay, cool, in what way? Stiffer, softer, balance to the front or rear? Let me know if you like ;)
front wheel rate from 48 to 46 to remove understeer, brake bias to 67 make the rear more stable (at least for me) and coast to 45 instead of 40. I just them more easy to drive for me. you might find them very very bad. I am not good at setups :) most of the guys put setups with a lot of oversteer at the end ... but maybe it's just my skill level that can not handle it yet

Joined at the start of the practice, for some reason I couldnt use my clutch (server was autoclutch, first time Ive seen that setting online), but I still had to change gears with h-shifter. This was not really doable cause I practiced with normal clutch and heel-toe shifting, so this completely threw me off and I constantly mis-shifted, stalling my engine and spinning out. So naturally, 30 minutes before race start I asked about 5 times in teamspeak can someone help with this, sent 2 private messages to @Craig Dunkley , but everyone ignored me. In the end I quitted the race to not destroy other people fun with my unpredictability due to this autoclutch insanity. But for races supposedly open to everyone along with buying premium membership, this kind of ignoring kinda sucked.

Hope you all had a great race with lots of fun ..a couple of new names this evening, always great to see...hope everything went well for you

@Ronnie Böhme ...thanks for posting your setup, much appreciated

Congrads to the podiums :thumbsup::thumbsup: and congrads to all the drivers that managed to finish

Hope to see you all next Wednesday in our "Special" event at Nordschleife

We will be doing one (1) special event per month .. @JoelK (AC Race Host) will be doing the next one

most of us don't use overwolf so we can not see who or what is writing in the TS. If you spoked on the TS, I did not hear you ... :( if you don't have a mic, it's best to use the chat inside the game, because this is more likely for somebody to see your message. When the practice starts, some guys even use VR, so they will not jump out of the game to read the TS commentaries but they will definitely see the messages in the game.

Look man I think you are overreacting a bit. I dont need a refund, I would like to participate in this cause I like the whole concept of this site and conduct of its members, and people like you taking their time to organise and lead every race. My message might have come a bit off and hotheaded, but I was just a bit sad and dissapointed because I was looking forward to this as my first serious online race, I took my time every day practicing the car and the track with standard clutching and heel-toeing, to just hitting the wall when actually connecting to the race with this autoclutch thing. I sent you messages on TS, right click on name and then "open text chat", was under the impression that is private message ? Anyways Im sorry again and hope we can smooth this out.

Thank you man, I dont use teamspeak normally because I dont have a microphone, Installed it now for the first time ever, so I sent written messages thinking there is some signal or ping to other people that are connected on channel, did not know you need overwolf for that. Reading the rules, was kinda under the impression that every discussion and questions should happen in teamspeak, not ingame chat.

Okay, with the VR, the sliding Escort, qualified where I did not belong, dunno how I did that lap, obviously had to fight cars from passing me and eventually they did, it was A HELL of a fun and I got so much heat from the VR, I think I need a shower!

Videos soon too! Meanwhile you can sub on my channel here that I try to grow slowly from beginning

Thank you all for the fantastic race! It was my first online race in ages here in RD (since the one for Tuesday didn't really count because of connection problems). Specially thank you to Ronnie for the nice setup, to Craig for hosting and to the guys who I could fight during the race (Dennis, John and Dusko).

I was very happy with my Q time and my pace (besides the mistakes, which were bound to happen with this track/car combo). 4th was the best I could achieve. I was 3rd for a couple of minutes, but I couldn't stand Dennis pace. :D

Just to say thanks again Ronnie, made the race a pleasure for me:thumbsup:

I used the first setup you posted and reduced front ride height to 10, rear to 2. I did try your latest one but I found the first one much more predictable (my skill levels require a plodding setup:laugh:) - I could set the same lap time with both your setups and with the changes I made to your first one, just went for one I could finish with;).

Well, you get a "ding" message, but while you are in the game, you can't see the message if you don't have overwolf.

Thanks @Craig Dunkley for tonight's race, really enjoyed it:thumbsup: - to be honest, the fun was thanks to @Ronnie Böhme setups, made driving it feel like the real thing, I almost wept with nostalgia:roflmao:

Congrats to the podium guys, amazing lap times!

Had some great tussles with @pattikins Patrick and @Kek700 Ernie, thanks as always guys for the fair racing. Couple of times it was close with Patrick 'cos, like the Alfa GTA, I found it hard to judge a pass without sliding uncontrollably.

And apologies too Patrick; you nearly ran into me on the straight, my fault - first time I've used the H shifter for a while and it went back into missing 5th gear occasionally, will have a go at re-calibration before the next one.:)

EDIT: If anyone's got the 'out' file and could upload to simresults.net I'd really appreciate it, would love to see the lap times of the Aliens! (I've tried and it's not worked:()

Got back from shower :roflmao: that was quite tricky car. If it wasn't for @Ronnie Böhme setup it would have been much harder I assume. Having found myself on P4 in T2 from there really could've gone downhill because, like @Medilloni said, congratulations to the guys who made podium, they drove some really great great laps. Also the 4th 5th 6th 7th, as we were getting the near the end, the gap to you was only increasing, you were great. P8 probably the best I could've done.

I touched someone don't know who in the last S3, it wasn't intentionally I was just far too close and destroyed both myself and his race and any chance to fight for 4th.

Later on someone spun me too at T3 but it happens, these cars are really sliding a lot. Even if you go wide you can catch it with slide and get back in racing line and that was quite tricky at times. As it was in my case.

Really fun! Thanks for hosting this.
