Race 1 - fantastic, crashed in quali and was near the back. Fought my way up to 2nd having massive battles with Carlos, Grzegorz and Knut along the way. Knut's massive comeback meant he pipped me to 2nd, but I was happy to finish 3rd after a hard race.

Race 2 - Well the fact I'm writing it now and not driving should tell you that it dodn't go all too well. Another qualy mishap say me last on teh grid. I started well and was in a nice group with Carlos and Co again. Managed to have a spin at the hairpin that cuts the track. Lost some time but was determined to catch up as I felt my setup was good. Then I managed to get all crossed up chasing bob into T1, lost it about 300yds before the corner and was just a passenger. Fortunately I didn't take anyone else off. Same lap, same haipin I lose it under brakes and hit the tyres. Didn't seem like a very big hit but the car burst into flames...oh well.

Over all a good race and a real shocker for me. Excellent car and tracks as always though carlos. Thanks!!

I don't like this car! :p Everyone else was complaining of under-steer, but I'm over-steer into and out of the corners!?

Anyway, race 1, I spin through the chicane, but lots of quali DQ's put me 6th on the grid. I manage 1 lap without any mishaps, then take T1 too fast and end up 10th. Lots of spins later I come home 10th and last after being lapped.

I couldn't handle any more after this and left before R2.

Thanks Carlos and RD

Wow that was two lovely races:good: Great to be back.

Race 1: I remember racing the GTL Escort around here in a previous event and I didn't like the car that much. But tonight was very different, I really liked the 1600. Very agile and entertaining. I prefer this one as the engine is powerful enough for gentle slides, but not enough for that solid rear axle menace of the larger Escort. However it was very hard to catch the wider slides.

I had a good start and had a small gap in T1. There was a battle behind me and I managed to build up a good lead in the first lap. But then I had a silly moment where I went on grass. I spun and went hard into the armco, damaging my suspension.

Now i was down to 6th or 7th and was trying to get used to the new suspension "setup". The rest of the race was truly awesome. I drove the Escort as hard as I could and it did really good. I even set my PB during these laps. Lots of fun fighting my way back up and managed to grab 2nd place. Great stuff!

Race 2: This is normally not my kind of track, but again tonight was different. Maybe I was just so happy to be driving in GTL again:D The race was more quiet than first except the last laps when I had Gary chasing me. Quite a workout.

Thanks Carlos, Stuart and all that showed up.

A bit of a dodgy start from 2nd place putting me instantly in a pack as i watch Knut calmly pull away, highlight of the race for me was lap one going in to Foggys side by side with Carlos, and then staying side by side down to Shell hairpin and all around it together with zero contact, and not losing much on the others behind as well...amazing :),by the time i settled in and broke away a bit Knut was now well away up ahead in 1st until he went of at Macleans quite badly, unlucky mate, but for sure weve all been there,a fairly lonely run to the finish now,but fun laps seeing how much pushing the wee Fordy can take.

Away a little better from 2nd place again at Nurby but Stu effortlessly breezed past clearing me for arrival at T1,i duly slotted in behind and braced myself for the usual Nurby T1 action, but nothing happened!,looked like all through there no probs, very good stuff everyone, its not often that most infamous T1 doesnt cause some bother, hung in there with Stu but once again Knut up in front was making the break,Stu gave it too much right boot coming out of T3 and attempted a SuperBike highside, but having 4 wheels made it yer standard slewing slide,so up to 2nd again and made an attempt to catch Knut, but it wasnt happening really, the gap went the other way in his favour,he even had time for a big late spin off track and time to recover and proceed to pull away a bit again ;).
Grats Knut and podiums and ofcourse all survivors in the smaller and sometimes "quirky" Escorts.

Thanks Carlos & RD

Another fun night at club GTL, also good to have an old face back, great to see ya Knut.

As for the racing, it was great fun tonight on 2 stock tracks and a mod car. Race 1 and with a good quali was mid pack. Had a good start but got out of shape in the craner curves. Got a touch from Roman going through Starkies bridge which put me off and too the back of the field but as usally Roman waited for me to rejoin. After getting through the guys at the back which wasn't that easy as they were having their own race I came across Stu who obviously had a moment unseen by me as last time I checked he was at the sharp end. This was where my enjoyment level went sky high as me & Stu went at it for around six laps or so untill he lost it going through the Fogarty Esses. By now the guys ahead were out of reach and with only 3 or 4 laps left I backed out of it and waited for Stu to catch up which only happened on the last lap and so we had a dash to the finish line which I won.

Race 2: this time a poor quali as I lost it going through the cut back but still landed my in 7th. Got a really good start and made a few place which I then conceded when I had to slow a bit for those in front of me. Over the next couple of laps I managed to get the places back when others had their moments & before long I found myself having a nice ding dong with Carlos for a few laps. I managed to get by him when Tom went flying past us both going into T1 but shortly after I spun out going into T3. Again managed to gain a place when Grzegorz spun out but by then Carlos & Roman were about 5 seconds up the road. Then just as in the first race Stu appeared in front of me and then went behind me and finally out of the race while chasing me so all I had to do then was to bring it home in 5th.

Once again Carlos great pick of track and car. I had a brilliant time racing this mod and racing with all the guys tonight. Grts to Lenno and Knut on the wins, thanks to all the guys I raced tonight, fair and clean as usual and hope to see ya all next time.

A shocker for me.

Had decent pace in both races, but I couldn't brake with any confidence at all after about 5 laps in each race. This happened last time at Doni in the Escort for me, and then it transferred over to Nurby as well, so it's definitely something I'm doing wrong.

Gradually loost my rag, and will to live, resulting in my first petulant rage quit in a loooong time, for which I apologise to all.

Well Stu I had the same problem. I jumped around too much in the practice session trying different setups and never settlled on the one that I felt confident with and therefore I coudn't do any braking without losing control, so I was all over the place in both races. In race 2, one of my crashes resulted with a locked rear left tire and I completed the race burning rubber for about 6 laps. Could only turn to the right by using full power in 1st gear. Horrible races for me but still happy to be taking part in the events. Cheers to all fellow racers and to those responsible for these events .:)

This car is a lot like it's big brother (RS2000)...sometimes sweet, sometimes evil, and mostly unpredictable. At least that's my own take on it.
It lets you mildly slide the rear and then catch it, but sometimes it slides when you least want it to. I also found it rather hard to brake. And the 2nd to 1st downshift will bite you if you aren't careful about WHEN you shift. Maybe it's because I use a pad and I don't have full control of the clutch?

Even though the car is somewhat difficult to drive, I had a lot of fun in both races and to my surprise only managed to spin it once in Doni and never in the Ring (mistakes here and there but only one complete spin).

Race 1) I had loads of fun trading places with Grzegorz and Tom, and that side by side bit with Lenno was great. It's not everyday 2 guys go into a chicane and they both make it out unscathed hehe. Sorry I held you up there Lenno, I normally just brake and let you through, unless I'm in a faster car, then I battle you to the death lol! Last night I wasn't in a faster car so the side by side thing was actually a fluke of mine, glad you enjoyed it though :thumb:
BTW Tom, nice driving at Doni, and sorry for holding you up as well.

Race 2) Ah, the Ring, one of my love/hate tracks. I hate T1, love the rest lol.
Was nice battling with Bob, was looking forward to more of it but unfortunately he spun out :frown:. Then I spent most of the race running way from Roman who was always close enough to keep me on my toes. Luckily for me, the race was short enough to keep him at bay and bring it home in 3rd thanks to Stu's unfortunate event entering the dreaded T1.

No need for apologies Thommo, we all get mad, we are human after all. And this car has a great ability to drive anyone nuts lol!

Grats to Knut and Leno for the wins!

Thanks Thommo for helping with the server stuff, RD, and all of you who showed up.

A shocker for me.

Had decent pace in both races, but I couldn't brake with any confidence at all after about 5 laps in each race. This happened last time at Doni in the Escort for me, and then it transferred over to Nurby as well, so it's definitely something I'm doing wrong.

Did use your setup Stu having the same problems, changed breaks to 59-41 an lifted the rear of the car a bit with make it "more stable"for me , still to twisty to my liking lost the car to many times in the race most of it in the beginning of the race so lose contact fast an driving all alone most of the time,to my surprise I did a fast lap on Nurnburg (1.46.783) but could not repeat that so I have to look at my hotlap how I did that, lol.(not in the shadow of 1.44.xxx).
Not a good Q had a 180 an start from p 8 slipof in the first lap an the rest of the race on my own fin on p7 do to some problems from others.

Start on Donnington on p 11 (lap not count) an managed to fin. on p8 .

Looking back ,I must do more time with this Escort to know the car better, it deserves that an the sound is great.

I did had a lot of fun with it, all do a bid on my own ,passing Jack who was drawing a black line around the whole track an not going to the pit fore a new tyre, but holding on to the end of the race:D

Thanks Carlos an Stuart

You know Hans, you are correct. I was considering going to the pits for repairs, but that is part of the game that I have never tried before and I was worried about not being able to complete the change correctly in a race and therefore not being able to finish (DNF). Also I remember reading about the autopitstop ( I have not changed it to manual pitstop) being a bit unpredictable. Just another part of the game that I have to become familar with.

Jack you can test it out ofline, on your own an try to do it manual it is the best method ,with your right an left arrows you decided what you will change, right
arrow no change hit enter to start an hit the pit limmeter when you are ready or else you get a S&G.
