Editing PLR Files etc

How do you edit your .PLR files or things of that nature becuase after I installed GTR E I can't find any of these files!!

I've installed Steam, but does that actually install the game onto my computer or is it running it off the disk??

During gameplay it drops fps about 2-3 times a lap for around 10-15 seconds.

I know these are different problems but I thougt I'd keep the forum clear from lots of newbie questions!!

You can use notepad to edit your .plr file. It is located in Steam/steamapps/(playername)/race07/uidata... I'm pretty sure (i'm at work)

The game is installed on your computer and the disk is not needed to run.

There is an option in the menu that allows the settings to change automatically to a specified fps range. I think it is located in the graphic option menu.

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<STEAM NAME>\race 07\UserData\<PROFILE NAME>
