Nvidia 456.55 driver crashes Windows 10 version 2004 on GTX-1080Ti with dual 2560x1600 displays

After reseating the GPU and its power cables and rebooting Windows with only a single display attached,
YouTube video window in Chrome browser would only very briefly go black before recovering,
but with both displays attached, the first attempt to launch a YouTube video after rebooting
would cause first the video window, then that screen, then both screens to go black and hang indefinitely.
Rebooting after holding the Alienware Aurora R7 power button required Windows repair.

The solution was reverting to Nvidia driver 452.06, disabling driver update notifications.
Problems originally began with Windows version 1909, when Nvidia replaced driver 452.06 with 456.38,
after which, for the first YouTube video on Chrome browser after rebooting,
the video window, then that screen, then both screens to go black, but recover after a few seconds.
The only record for those incidents that I could find:
Event Viewer->Custom Views->Summary page events
Event ID 4101 "display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding"

This behavior continued after driver 456.38 was replaced by 456.55.
Hangs began after Windows updated from version 1909 to 2004.
I did not test with Nvidia driver 456.71, since (IMO)
Nvidia is far more concerned about promoting RTX 30 series sales
than stability with older GPUs.

Other GTX 10 series users on Nvidia's fora report similar issues with 456.71

"pascal has issues with video streaming and VESA:AS in the 456 drivers, it'll be fixed next driver."

Black screen I had was from not installing the HD Audio :O_o:

I only use headphones , USB 7.1 for sims and BT4.40 for media so I got smart idea to remove HD Audio, both monitors have speakers but I just never use them

Anyway when I rebooted after removing HD Audio , tried media to check audio with headphones and it black screened " no signal '
Reboot and tried winamp again black screen
Reinstalled HD Audio all okay :O_o:

Nvidia 456.71 driver broke my Surround setup. Tried everything but its definitely the driver. Running 456.38 to get triples working again. Is the hotfix 456.98 a beta driver? Does it fix the surround issue?
