Driver Swaps

I asked about driver swaps over at ISI forums to see if anyone has tried it in rf2. I asked because I noticed that there is an option in the Multiplayer.ini file so you can join a server as a spectator.

Seems as if someone did try and it worked successfully.

Has anyone tried doing driver swaps here at RD? Would be cool if we could get it working properly.

Until the previous builds, it was not possible.

Funny that you mention the setting, as it is present since build 49!!! already

. We have tested the swaps since that build also

There are however different signs that show it's coming.

What is a bigger problem, is the fact that they have limited the options to jump in as passenger. The vehicle files where not transfered. If they fixed that, it might work.

As we are getting closer to final release, so there is a good chance that its working now.

Does it mean it's functional now perhaps?

I've found another way to join as spectator.

Just click the Advanced tab in the Launcher and then click on the "Multi Player CLI" tab and then type +spectate in the box and click save. Now when you join a server you will join as a spectator.

As we tested it last night, the driver swap works very nicely, let the endurance races begin.

Slight problem with method above. If you delete +spectate and save it still lets you join as spectator.

Maybe another command needs to be entered to turn off spectator mode?
