PC1 Do people set assists to REAL?

Wow, going through ALL my posts and disliking them? Seriously....*facepalm*

I disliked 4 Posts of yours NOT ALL ... which all (but 1) said that pCARS is either simcade or arcade with the worst or even no arguments .... stop posting lies plz

... Have you read my follow up posts about pCars? ...
No and i dont intend to, heard enough BS from you. I just answered on your posts so that once a person said the opinion to you!
... I setup the sim according to my personal preference (including audio), just like how you setup your force feedback according to your personal preference.
I like pCars after setting up the ffb, fov. it's not like any other game. It has a different feel. Some like it. Some don't. I'm guessing from your statements that you liked every single driving game you played...

My question to this is: Why did you ever post any opinions about a game when you didnt even set it up correctly and played just 1.5h?
No i dont like every game i play. But i nearly always find things in the game that i like!

P.s. How would you feel if someone tells bullshit about you (ie. to your gf)? Yes you would be angry and try to correct it. Or at least make them think about what they say or "when" they say it. IMO people should decide themselves if they wanna play a game or not. And they shouldnt get mislead by PR or some people that dont like the game because its not their thing and so tell lies (ie Fanboys).

P.p.s.
....
Did you jump in your real DTM car to check whether you could hear the tires squealing ("you checked")?...
Onboards (i know that the sound gets compressed dont worry) and the fact i was at the season opener this year are what i meant by checking

if the F1 has ABS by default thats a mistake & should be corrected, it definitely didnt have ABS

Senna, Mansell, Prost, ... all drove with TC. It's not a sin is my point. And to us console guys we CAN finally use them and have a *realistic* experience instead of just making the game more unrealistic.

What I'm saying is when I set the assists to off, I shouldn't get any assistance, but I still get it in PCars. Along with some reports of traction control in the ford mk iv with real assists, I guess their off are their "real" settings.

If you want all assists off, it's kinda counter intuitive, set assists to 'full', and then turn them off just below. I then set key assignments to abs and TC so I can enable/disable when i want..

So for us noobs, can someone who knows their stuff please clarify, if I'm after setting as close to real life as I can, I should set the driving assist option to 'Real'... correct?
I am asking because when I do this, the Escort Mk1 and Lotus 49 (I just picked 2 older cars to see) have the TC slider available to tweak in their setups. Is this correct? I have no idea how old TC tech is or if they had it, so asking for clarity. Cheers!

Tracks are easier. I compared Hockenheim and Laguna Seca to R3E tracks. I'll upload the video comparison to youtube eventually. pCars tracks were wider in some corners and easier to drive. I don't know which track is more accurate.

I don't know how R3E made their tracks. The SMS track developers did overlays with GPS/satellite maps (since those aren't laser scanned) to ensure their accuracy.

pCars tracks are almost glassy smooth.

Some of that might be your FFB config and it also depends on the cars. The street cars will obviously have much softer suspensions so not much road noises will be transferred to the car. However, cars like the Formula C shake the crap out of my wheel.

There is currently a setup GUI bug which can allow options to 'appear' to be useable when they aren't. I'm not sure if this is what you are seeing. It's been hard to replicate it 100% and the WMD community has been trying to find 100% reproducible steps but it still seems a little random.

The answer to your first question is yes, REAL is suppose to allow what is available for the real car.

i am not blaming anyone for turning on ABS, i am simply saying, IF the mclaren F1 had ABS by default when you CHOOSE 'real', it would be a mistake. (its not the case, so its not even an issue :))

I would prefer "real life" but since this game is made more for fun and not to imitate real world racing spot on I set TC off. In Assetto Corsa, however, I use "real life" ...saver. :D
Don't ask why.

re: tracks
Yeah, I don't know either. R3E, on a splash screen, they mention "more laser scanned tracks coming" But in other information they talk about using actual car suspension telemetry to determine the track surface. Also, I have R3E setup "for my personal preference". That includes 100% cockpit movement (according to the track surface). So, I feel every bump through steering wheel kick and get the vision blurring jolts.
The fact is, every racing game, I have played, the tracks seem slightly different.

re: FFB Config.
yes, I still need to work on the ffb - in every game. The cars I have driven in pCars are Prototypes and GT3 cars. Mainly to compare against similar R3E cars.
To me, the Porsche GT3 style cars handle very similar between R3E and pCars.
Let me rephrase the track feel- It's more like the difference between driving on a brand new asphalt surface and an old one. I'll need to give the open wheel cars a try.

Assists off, tire wear off. Calibrate wheel and pedals, then manually recalibrate wheel and pedals from control / edit assigments, take a little time with settings and you will find the most greatest racing sim ever...

I set it to REAL and drive like one would in real life, turning TC on in corners where it gains me laptime and off in corners where it's actually making me slower. Same with ABS. Stability control is something I always have turned off as I think it is a bit weird and unpredictable.. sometimes gives me too much understeer in a weird way.

Remember guys that you can TWEAK the Traction Control Slip % in the car setup on many of the race cars in the game, just like in real life (though in real life it's usually on the fly, in the cockpit.. hopefully we get that ability at some point too). Combined this with the Differential and you can make the car behave exactly like you want it to on throttle out of corners.

pCars tracks are almost glassy smooth. They don't have the small bumps that can affect handling, or send a jolt through the steering wheel that can affect steering.
I think Nordschleife is not so smooth, you can feel all bumps with Ariel Atom, never felt anything like that in any other sim, AC just rattling so heavily but not feel realistic like this PCARS, PCARS is the most greatest ever, not all car mods perfect not all tracks perfect but if one car and one track is so good then there's hope, AC does not have any hope, that's the difference between these sims...
