So ironic. Not even slightly interested sadly, the last game was so poor I can't believe it was even released, saying that look who made it, they are so boringly predictable. Dirt simish title, dirt garbage, dirt simish, dirt garbage, yearly f1 games, grid, cmon guys do something original.
Hints of Forza Horizon meet Dirt 2 and Grid 2019 - and dare I say it a splash of Showdown.
Codies take on Motorstorm, Gravel (anyone remember the Milestone title?), V-Rally 4 (remember?) and Forza Horizon. Just put in a DiRT setting.welcome, to MOTORSTORM!
Thats what reminds me when watching this trailer.
What's often the thing that breaks these games for me, and by the trailer, seems to be the case here. Is when you put R5 rally cars, the old Stratos etc. together in the same race and the have basically the same performance. That ruins it for me. I don't need realistic handling (hey V-Rally 3), and I don't need though, grueling stages (Hey Horizon), but don't just put random rally cars together just because they are rally carsI'm probably in the minority but I am excited for this.
I loved the simple but fun racing from DiRT 2 and 3, still fire them up from time to time.
Only thing that really concerns me is how much DLC they'll pump into it. And if the always online thing will still be around
Haha, I had forgotten about Gravel until this trailer. V-Rally 4 not so much, because I so wanted them to build on the career-bit from V-Rally 3 (when they decided to revive an old name I mean). Instead it felt like they took the worst from the 3+N64 games and made V-Rally 4 from thatDo I remember?
I’m trying to forget!
Yeah, they should do it like Microsoft Studios instead, where the arcade games are called Forza Horizon and the simcade games are called Forza Motorsport! That's how you give games different names!!!There is plenty of room for all kinds of tastes and games, no problem.
What does matter is the expectation of fans.
So Forza Horizon, clear right?
Now DiRT, DiRT 2, DiRT 3, DiRT Showdown, Dirt Rally, DiRT 4, DiRT Rally 2 and now DiRT 5
Not clear, as a customer you do not know what a DiRt title will bring, more arcade or less arcade, whatever.
The problem is not the game, it is using a franchise for different games styles, that way you are certain to disappoint or piss off a certain part of your player base. The simple solution is to NOT abuse the loyalty of a franchise title.
DiRT 5 will probably please people looking for a quick spin a la Forza Horizon, it will probably not appeal to all DiRT fans, it will almost certainly not appeal to most DiRT Rally fans. Nice marketing F-up.
There was a timw when Codemasters just gave games different names.
