WIP Dalsland Ring 1967

This is an old track located in Sweden which was raced on during 1966 to 1973
Im recreating the 1967 version which was when the track was still very new and offcourse dangerous!
The track is 1650meters long and 12 meters wide and located on a flat field surrounded by some cool swedish landscape!

The track is quite tricky to make due to the lack of reference material but will be very rewarding to make as its a racing track few people even know existed and because its a real challenge to recreate!

Heres a first taste of what i have achieved so far, the green feel will soon be changed tho since the track was pretty sandy rocky and rough in its early days The track is based on an old photo from 1970 which is aligned to match the current scenery on google earth! i also made the track 12 meters wide since thats what they say it was and because it matched perfectly with the old photo More pictures and info about the track will surface as i go along...

Yes! i actually started this track serveral years ago when i first got btb but my track making skills and google skills were not so great back then..

Heres a small picture showing the last corner and how it looks right now Ive been working on the textures and i got them pretty much to my liking, still needs some tweaking tho...
Later on this corner will be filled with people, some advertising and alot of forest scenery behind them all

That track was located 10 km away from where i live. I was there to watch races from the day i was born so to speak I´ve actually been driven around it in Erik Bergers Escort I was 4 years old then He made a comeback to racing at the age of 73 in 1997 and btw he´s still racing at an age of 86 ... Would love to drive it keep the good work up

Edit: Dont think it was 12m wide in 1967 tho wonder if it wasnt after the regulations in 1970 ( The crash at Karlskoga), they had to make it wider and add alot off safetyfeatures. Not sure tho... but 12 m thats even wider than Gelleråsen i just might have a chatt with Erik B cause he was involved building it if u like ??

Not much im afraid, been busy finishing up another track and after that i got another cool project that probably will steal even more time..

If anyone wants to take over this project and work on it a little, feel free to give me a shout

Work is progressing slow but steady...

I want to give a big thanks to woochoo for letting me use some of his Longford 67 trackside cars for the track
