Day 5 of the Dakar rally saw a surprising win of Vladimr Vasilyev who mastered the stage to Antofagasta in front of Alrajhi in second position, with in third position the Fans Favorite Robby Gordon. In the overall standings Al-Attiya still leads before De Villiers.
Marco Coma was the fastest in the motorbike category leading Barreda in second position and third position placed Quintanilla. Overall its Barreda leading Coma.
