Correct shifting methods

Could someone help out with an immersion factor or struggle I'm having...

I don't know the correct shifting method the car uses in real life. So I mostly never know when to use paddles, sequential, h-shifter, and clutch with the last two methods. I usually play assetto corsa, so when I take a car to the track there, the game will only let me use the shifting method the car uses, in case my hardware matches. But here in stock cars game I'm kinda lost.
I've been playing less of it because I'd like only to practice and race with the correct methods, but can't really figure out for all cars.

Here's an image of the cars to help out with the identifications (taken from here):

So story short, I'd like to know which cars are paddles, sequential, h-shifter, and if it needs clutch usage with sequential.
Thank you in advance.

Hello, keep in mind that the clutch GSCE not simulate as it should, ie be mandatory when not in auto selected. (I hope this is added in the next version as my request).

V8's - Sequential Paddle shifter (Introduced in 2014 these) and FExtreme. Freiza and V12's.

F3's and Metalmoro MR18 - Sequential (lever).

FRetro, FClassic's FVee's, Opala's and Mini's - H-Shifter

Hope this helps.

About these, are the cars raced with a clutch pedal when changing gears, either through paddles or sequential lever?
In this case the clutch is necessary just to get out with the car (start of the race for example). During the race do not use the clutch to change gears.

Curiosity: Except cars with H-Shifter (which theoretically uses the clutch) and the "Punta-Taco" (technique Heel & Toe) is practically mandatory, the other cars is enabled default "Auto-Blip" and "Auto-Lift" so the clutch is not required when shifting these.

You guys are killing me
How the heck am ever gonna be a skilled sim racer?
So much to learn
I owned a 68' GTO as my first car and learned to heel toe
but it's very difficult when in the sim
Will keep plugging away so...

The technique in the real car has better feeling, of course.
In "Sim", depending on your equipment needs some time to practice, then it becomes a very natural and pleasurable action. Enjoy!

Wedsley,
Thanks for the encouragement
I'm going to get it sorted, I want to be a competitive,
clean racer. I wouldn't ever race OMP til I get to a certain level.
I cringe when I see you skilled guys get a dose of the
Race Ruiners- some aren't quite ready for OMP but some just
don't care that they aren't ready- I will never be those guys
Uh nope-it's worth the wait
I'm going to purchase better equipment in a month or so
the G27 wheel is okay but I want better pedals
I had a master carpenter build a nice rig so that is set.
Thanks again mate and see you sooner rather than later!

Why not join our race club? It's a good way to dedicate focussed time to improving, and it's much more fun than hotlapping (imo). And you don't need to be fast, just clean. You'd be very welcome.

Nox,
I will take you up on that offer.
Thanks mate. I'll send a PM after work
I am sure many are going to pass out if they see
another encyclopedia volume from me,
especially when I keep posting irrelevant stuff
in the wrong threads.
I'm looking forward to being learned from the super skilled.
And yes hot lapping or racing versus AI is boring.
Thanks again mate!

@Bartolo, You may feel nervous for your first race but we all started the same way. You don't need have a top of the range equipment or be a speed demon just sign up an drive. Just take it easy and it will all fall into place within a few races, if you can get on with Teamspeak (voice chat) it's a great help I'm sure you'll be up an running in no time.

RD is a good place to start with it's clean & fair racing, along with good support forums.

This is good info! :)

It would be nice to know some other cars shifting methods too. Gt cars, road cars, cars ... Which have stick and which have paddles?
I have only a sequential shifter so i can't use H , but id like to have the immersion , when to use paddles and when not.
