Sebastien they seem to be a bit slow on this events posting. I expect that there is a huge log of laps to be browsed through by som epooor soul who doesn't value sleep like the rest of us!:worship:

I imagine it would be up soon so those who are participating would know what the current records are to beat.

FWIW I'll post my current laps that I know beat the known record.

WTCC87 9:02.???:laugh2:

If poss, stick me on the bottom of the list as a "tentative" could you please mate?

Would like to run but not sure I can make it 100% right now.
Bump me off if things fill up, but I will do my best to be there as the last one sounded a right royal laaaaarf. :good:

(and being overly optimistic, that's 3 new tracks I gotta learn too )

format is subject to changes... which i'll make on saturday afternoon... will depend on how many signups we actually get... 25 means we'll haveta drop a round....

  • Nick Fine

Blimey - that is an evil car on an evil track!! I think I spent most of my practice in 2nd.... more practice needed before I sign up...

Servername: RACEDEPARTMENT.COM

Start: 20:00 GMT
Format: 4 episodes

Notes: Click here to read the password and golden rules!

RULES & REGULATIONS

Event is limited to 13 slots only.

Participants gather on RD Teamspeak in time for the start of the event.

Stock track & car and weather combo will be randomly generated just before the episode begins. Taken from GTRe & STCC, you'll need both these expansions to take part.

A 5 minute practice session is given to allow participants to get onto the server - absolutely no running allowed.

Then follows a closed, timetrial qualification with one lap only, no more.

Running order will randomly selected with participants running one at a time. Everyone else will be watching you on race monitor and ripping you a new one. :D

If you crash out, you must finish your lap, if possible.

Teamspeak participation is mandatory - event is entirely run through this medium. One or two "listeners only" is fine but I'd rather everyone be able to speak.

Forced cockpit view.

Only default dry/wet simbin setups to be used (if available) - you can adjust steering lock and fuel.

Points, per episode, allocated as follows:

Code:
 1st 20
 2nd 17
 3rd 15
 4th 13
 5th 11
 6th 8

You are right Lee, I got wide. But that was because i had a better start than the person in front of me. He went to the inside and i just lifted the throttle and did not want to brake for up coming traffic. It didn't work out.
Sorry for taking you with me on that.

The problem for me was that i was to close to you. I lifted my throttle just to have some room to brake and not steal your rear bumper. There by i didn't see the turn and locked my wheels up.

I ain't that fast:rotfl:. Had some fun battling with you although it was short. Did put a smile on my face, even when i got off the track. I always smile when in a battle... lol
Thnx again all.

No biggees Jeroen - learning race craft better is partially what these club events are about, and it was indeed in most amusing, especially the bits where you overdid it :laugh2: ... but not when you hit me :p

I reckon patience and following people closely and cleanly are some of the hardest skills to learn.
From our on track moments Jeroen, watching the replays of other people's incidents, and in reading here what others experienced last night, I'd say that these are things we all need to work much harder at, that way we can all enjoy our online racing even more.

The best close racing in my experience comes from guys who have a mutual trust and respect with one another.

One mention on this score, Pascal really earnt my respect last night, great clean and close racing mate ... thanks for that, was most enjoyable despite you nicking that spot back on the last lap :good:

Till the next one, RespeK y'awwwwwllllllll :highfive:
