am guessing it's all over and done... it disappeared a coupla hours ago...

edit: also, thanks for the session, i've gone almost mental trying to break 2:10 in the f3000 and i still just missed out....

Qualified 4th: 1.43.5

Race 1: got a good start and had a good scrap with Mtommi Tam 'till he made a mistake and ran off track about lap 5, then had a lonely race and finished 3rd behind Andreas and the unstoppable Atti.

Race 2: oops!! sorry to anyone who's race I ruined, I ran wide at paddock on lap 2, came back on track but someone ran into the back of me and spun me into the middle of the track causing a pile up and ending my race, sorry again. Thanks for organizing Cam, looking forward to next week :D

race2*
i got a brilliant start made a cuple of positons till first corner, i now braked a bit earlyer to not hit anyone while turning in i hit a mini who was inside of me, i think it was warren sorry mate i realy did not saw you there i think we both ended in the gravel
engien still running nothing happend if i put in a gear so i dropped out
sorry again warren

Michael, don't worry about this one, those things happen.

It wasn't that incident that upset me, but as a result of crashes in both races at the start, and dropping to the back, I got to see so many accidents in front of me due to careless and aggressive driving, not to mention some shocking track re-entries, that I gave up.

We have some very basic rules and driving standard guidelines in the Racing Club, but for some reasons, they get completely ignored.

Race 1 : i managed to escape the druids crash and jumped from 20th to tenth but it didn't last long made alot of mistakes. after a few laps gregory cuaght up to me, I knew he was alot faster then me but i still tryed to stay infront of him without blocking him and giving him room to overtake at about lap ten he tryed a move on the first right hander of secter two, i didn't have much room and went onto the grass and he went out a bit more and i tryed to come back on i think i might of went a bit too far and he had to brake to avoid me so sorry, on the final lap i got some lag from a firend msging me over steam and gregory got past me, i'll turn steam firends off next race..

Race 2 on lap two there was a huge crash on druids bend and i went inside and had to avoid somone and slammed into the wall and my race was over..

overall the first race was alot of fun, the second race not so much..

Apologies accepted Attila, and while I,m at it I will offer my apologies for bringing this up on chat whilst others were racing, also a no-no.
It was just that I was so frustrated with the driving last night, saw that Warren was also not happy, so said so without thinking others were still driving.
Got knocked around in the 1st race in those concertina type accidents but managed to finish about 11th so reasonably happy with that.
Then got hit again at the hairpin on the 1st lap in the 2nd race but came out in 9th, but then just got rammed off the track on one of those fast rh sweepers round the back , no attempt at redressing,no sorry, car damaged, so into the pits. Hadnt used the pit system before so couldnt seem to confirm to the crew to fix it, finally got out but the car still wasnt right, the leaders were coming up to lap me so rather than take them out escaped back to the pits, and vented my frustration. Take a look at 175 sec on the replay.
Just hope everyone takes a little more caution next week, its not a demo derby guys, and it turns what should be enjoyable into

Rant over
GWYAR

I'll offer my apologies for also passing a comment on chat. I've never done that before, never quit a race before either, so that gives some indication of my frustration.
My biggest disappointment is similar to Grant's I'm afraid. I always just accept accidents, but to see so many people have their races ruined by people just punting them off carelessly, then not stopping to wait, and not even offering an apology is sad to see here.
As for the lap 1 incidents, I am at a total loss about how to improve it. Every time we advise people to take care in the opening turns to allow for thick traffic, cold tyres and brakes, but it never makes any difference.

One other thing I would ask people to be mindful of with chat is that the race isn't over when the winner crosses the line. The lower placed drivers can still be racing for a minute after the winner finishes, maybe even still fighting for position. So just as we don't chat during the race, please try not to chat until the last car has finished.

Yep the Spa weekend is over, Thanks to everybody who joined to make it a superb weekend!

McBrain hope i did not slow you down to much! was good racing and funny how we all went of trying to get past each other at the same bend, but like you said we did not touch.

may be we should do some more minin racing, but remember there not as good on brakes and slide all over the place for a couple of laps.

Thank you to all for sunday's race.

I'm going to post a positive report on this race :D. This was probably the most enjoyable race i've had since joining RD.

Qual - I never really felt comfortable with the mini at this track and was about 2 sec off attila's pace. Ended up qualifying in 10th.

Race 1 - Managed to avoid all the hub-bub in the first two corners and due to the whoopsie's of others I was running in about 5th - 6th for most of the race. Due to my own mistakes (I made a lot of them in race 1) I fell back into the clutches of Yves behind me. We had a great battle for about 4 or 5 laps, swapping positions, criss-crossing one another, and running side by side through numerous corners and not once did we touch. He ran wide onto the grass on the final lap and I was able to take 6th place for race 1. Great racing Yves, the most fun I've had in a long time.

Race 2 - I made some minor setup changes for race 2 to settle the car down a bit. I started third on the grid. Takuya was on pole but had another car stuck inside him. I got a good jump off the start line and was able to take 2nd leading into turn 1. Stayed out wide through turn 1 and into turn 2, where I got a bump on the inside from a car that got a bump from someone else. No big deal and didn't affect me. Overtook Takuya on the inside of turn 3 for the lead (He was taking it easy at the start of the race) and set about just trying to be neat and smooth. Inevitably at about lap 4 or 5 Attila caught me up and promptly vanished into the distance. Next up to catch up to me was Andreas, who overtook me easily but then made a couple of mistakes which allowed me to stay in touch and allowed James to catch up behind us. Luckily for me we ran out of laps and I was able to finish 3rd in race 2.

I know everyone has been saying that this was a terrible race in terms of racing standards. But besides from the couple of incidents in the first couple of corners (usually caused by one person coming in too hot and starting a chain reaction) the race was very clean from my perspective. Everytime I overtook someone or someone overtook me it was done cleanly with both drivers leaving enough room for the other. It was a very enjoyable race for me even though i'm not a big fan of the mini's. Cyas next week.:thumb:

I think that Brands hatch requires a lot of training, because it contains a lot of trap. It is indispensable to make training sessions with every event to know well the track. Furthermore when I look at the last race of the Group 1 which took place on the same track, we were able to see many accidents and errors.

Haha, my these were my first laps in F3000/FBMW/Cats in this game. Promising for racing :)

Nice event but..... maybe next time not a time trial because you only see ghosts. Trackdays are nicer with normal qualification mode were you have give room to faster guys etc.etc. Putting in a clean lap will be more difficult, buts thats exactly the same in real life :)
