CART 1996 and 1997 Mods

Hi man, thanks for sharing, you make gratis skins. I have a question, how can i install the skins in rfactor?
Thanks, actually 1996 is a CART Extreme mod that works also in rFactor. Basically to have these skins working you have to install the CARTFactor mod, then you can add those skins following the structure of the mod.

cheers

M

1. Why are there no Penskes in the 1997 season?
2. Why is Hiro Matsushita's 1997 car still marked as Robby Gordon's car?
3. Several 1997 cars still have their 1998 liveries.
4. Whats wrong with this picture?

Simple. It's a pack of paint schemes for 1997 on the 1998 cars. So things will necessarily be incorrect or incomplete. Sine chassis and car bodies evolved from year to year in this period of CART, you'd need a separate mod for 1997, likely with some or all new car models.

That doesn't really explain the identical liveries from 1998, or why the Patrick Racing cars look weird.

Not totally, but partially - because it implies it's just a hastily done skinpack! Whereas a scratch-made mod would require more attention to detail and such errors would be less likely to slip through modders' fingers. Probably the creators copied the 1998 skins, edited most of the files (but not all) to have 1997 skins instead, and did a poor job on the Patrick Racing ones (maybe forgot to finish them?). The creators or other modders could, in principle, fix the broken or missing skins - although some may have to be on an incorrect car body since it's a mod for 1998.
