Car Suggestions

This was going to happen sooner or later. Yes, it was.

I put "suggestions" as the thread title and not "requests" because really that's all you can do here, you can never demand anything of anyone here, but it might be nice to plant the seeds of inspiration into the content creators minds.

Also, any HELP would be appreciated. If you want to increase the likelihood of your suggestion being taken up, it would be useful to offer up things like blueprints, and perhaps personal knowledge of the car itself, or you could go further and find modeler resources, such as textures, sounds, or maybe even a basic 3D model to work with.

If someone suggests a car that's already been made, please link them to a download page for the content, or be kind enough to upload it if there is no available download.

Possibly sticky this one, please?

This is very true lol

Hum... I like the Honda CRX del Sol. A nice sporty targa, with 160hp in its top spec engine. Preetier in its stock shape, not with stupid bodykits and 27 inch rims like most owners put them...

There's a model for GTA, but it isn't very good, especially the interior which is totally wrong...

If the author gives permission, I could help with inis and conversion to Racer. Modelling and texturing would have to be done by anybody else...

Cheers! :D

1971 AMC Hornet SC/360

Based on AMCs economical Hornet model, the SC/360 is an almost forgotten mini-musclecar with a 360ci V8 shoehorned in, which made 245 hp in standard form, or 285 hp with the optional "Go" package. Torque was a healthy 390 foot lbs., peaking at only 3200 rpm. Although it didn't offer big block performance (quarter mile in the high 14 second range), it was still reasonably quick, tight, and like nearly all AMC musclecars, the handling was world-class. Only 784 were built.

The reason I'd like to see this car in Racer? Quite simply, because Racer doesn't have any AMCs yet. In fact, the brand is often overlooked when it comes to add-on cars for any game.

My suggestion

My suggeston for a car for racer is a Renault clio mk1.
renSMALL.jpg
It was a small affordable hatchback that would take on the ford fiesta mk3 (and later on, mk4). Today, they are normally modified to a rediculus degree by the younger generation of today. it had a variety of engine choices from a 1.2l c engine all the way up 2.0l engine with the most popular amongst younger drivers being the 1.2l D series engine.

I cannot find any decent photos of the interior of the original car as most have had the max power treatment. However, I have a good friend of mine who owns a 1997 renault clio mk1 who can contribute with any required photos. There is a model of this car for Gta Sa which is here: http://www.gtainside.com/en/download.php?do=download&id=25371

I can also also contribute with a decent soundset for this car if needed.

Probably stupid to say this again, but a Celica GT-Four (st205) would be nice, a completed one that is. I have one (can get pictures/sounds) and have good knowledge of them. There has been a good few WIPs over the years and frankly no-one has completed one :/ But that's just something I'd love a lot, and like I said, there are the WIPs.

Can't think of anything else atm.. but I will ;)

Ahh yes, the little P reg Clio! It is a 1149cc model and as of current, it is quite lethal despite not being modified at all. It the maintenance I performed on it to fix a few things the previous owners didn't do. I can only dread what the 1.4 models are like, probably deadly, the 1.8 models, which must be nearly uncontrollable and the 2.0 models which must be a uncontrollable beast! (For expert drivers.)
The Mk1 clios have a variety of interiors, but the Versailles types are probably the best, 420 miles later and its quite surprisingly conformable. (Welsh 37/5 has actually been in it and knows what I mean.)

One thing I haven't done yet, is maxed it out, so I'd really would love to max it out, but in racer to see how well it A) handles and B) how fast it can actually go*. I suppose racer is a good guide, without having to hit the M25 first.

* Without being a naughty boy and having my photo taken along my journey.

My suggestion: VW Golf Country
VW_Golf_Country.jpg

Directly from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Golf_Mk2:
There was also a version called Golf Country (about 6,697 cars), designed for light off-road driving. It had more suspension travel, four-wheel drive, bullbars (generally over a single headlight grill), a skid plate for protecting the engine area, and a spare wheel mounted externally on the back.
In Europe, it was offered with the acclaimed 114 bhp (85 kW) 1.8 8v petrol engine, and in smaller numbers, the 75 hp (56 kW) 1.6 GTD turbodiesel engine. There were also: 160 "Country Allround"; 558 " Country - Chrompaket" with Chrome bullbars and beige leather interior; and 50 "Country GTI" for VW-staff. The Golf Country was particularly popular in Alpine regions in central Europe.
This car has been modeled for GTA and can be downloaded here: http://gta-worldmods.t-n-network.de...ntent/download.php&contentid=4504&download=go

I think it's a very good model that could place side by side the excellent Siemionek's standard Mk2, obviously after the author's authorisation.

I would also like a Clio Mk1. I've heard many good things about the handling of this car. I would really like to own one when I get a job.

Would love to race around a short twisty circuit with this car (with plenty of lift-off oversteer of course)

The Williams edition would be the ultimate though! It is one of the top FWD cars ever produced, up there with the Integra and recent Renaultsports

FSR made a 1992 Clio a while ago, I've uploaded it to the RD downloads. It probably needs a lot of work to bring up to the current versions (file is from 2004). Interior isn't really finished either from what I can tell.

I'd make one (along with its cut off brother, the Gremlin). If I could find some decent blueprints.... and finish all the other vehicles I'm already working on lmao. But I would make both the Hornet and the SC/360 your requesting, and of course the Gremlin (c'mon you know you want one with the same motor and trans as the Hornet SC-360 lol). and I should say if I could find, GOOD blueprints.

No! lol

I had forgotten about the clio cup lol. What I forgot to say in my suggestion was that I was hoping for a regular road going Renault clio mk1, just the plain simple car you can buy (road legal one) for 350 quid.

I dream of a well made Citroen DS, especially the later versions...ok, not a racing car, but beautiful! I tried to find a model to convert, without success yet...if I had enough skills in modeling, I surely would make one...have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citroën_DS

Cheers
Thomas

I think Bumper made one some time ago, but never released it. Citroën DS's suspensions are hard to set properly in Racer. I know a french 3D modeler (xiorxorn) working on first versions, with the three body types. You can see his work on smcars forums, he's modeling cars for GTA, as far as I remember.

I started converting this one. But is this same model already converted to racer?
