Button indignant on Lewis's behalf

Along with the F1.com video edit which clearly showed the one at Leszmo 1, here is another video showing two more (start viewing at 1:45):

And I wasn't particularly speaking about 1 moment, I was speaking about a whole handful of moments.

You seem to be forgeting, the 2nd move is to go on the racing line, if it was to defend(aka to go off the racing line again) then it would be illegal.

Go to Formula1.com and watch the Italien race edit video. They are showing clearly that Schumi moved twice at some point.
One move to defend and another move to go back on the racing line before the corner is totally legal though.

No Video required. The FIA says you can only have 1 defensive move per corner, the thing is theres nothing in the rule book that says optimizing position for the next corner using the racing line can in anyway be classed as defending, the only thing it says in the matter is abnormal change in directions which in this case isn't as the racing line is the primary line taken to the corner, hence the clause.

Since every time there was a 2nd move he was going to the racing line its actually a legal move, as it can be classed as positioning for the corner.

This can be exampled at 0:45 and 1:47(on the video shown above)

The move at 1:59 where lewis went on the inside of Schumacher and he cut across is the exact same as the Button Hamilton incident at Canada, Schumacher followed the racing line in which Hamilton tried to go on the inside of it, this time it didn't result in collision due to Hamilton not being at such an advanced stage of track compared to the Button incident so through and through the FIA couldn't penalize him for it as it would contradict Button not receiving one at Canada.

I hope this clears things up.

So moving onto the racing line where the overtaking car currently is and taking his line is not considered a defensive move??? Of course it's defensive he's stopping his rival from overtaking. Besides, what about the one at Leszmo where he copies the movements that Lewis did and efffectively weaved across the track twice leaving no possibility for any car to get past?

This isn't a matter of common sence its a matter of it not being covered in the rules so its technically legal.

It's a difficult one to call. At the very least he is pushing the absolute boundary on what is legal and not, but I don't think he's acting within the spirit of the regulations. The argument that he is taking back the racing line for the next corner is questionable. It all depends on whether him moving back to the racing line impedes the other driver. If it does, it should be considered as illegal.

What is certain though is that it was very exciting to watch, and a big thumbs up to Hamilton for being patient throughout the whole race :)

There is a grey area as you can make the 1 move and include the direction you're going to take after the maneuver to point straight to corner entry racing line. In other words, after the defending move you are NOT required to drive parallel to the previous line, you can angle it. Then you're driving straight without any weaving to block the entry. The question is only has the driver driven parallel to the prevous line or not. If he takes the parallel line, he can not return to racing line before the next corner. Extremely useful tactic but it really is using loopholes.
