Building your own handbrake

Good day RD gentlemen, i have a question to all DIY simracers;
Could you guys share your designs on how you built your own handbrake?
So far i have seen some videos about how to, but im still not sure - should i use PCB from an keyboard (meaning handbrake uses one of the keyboard letters to register) or should use an PCB from gamepad?

Any tips or help would be appriciated!

Probably easiest way is to use an arduino.

Google for "arduino joystick" or "arduino buttonbox"

You could also modify a joystick.

you could use a g25 pedal with a bodnar controller or some arduino board as well
Here's how I did with a spare G2x pedal I had and a paint roller.

this weekend my bodnar usb controller arrive and I have re wired all 4 pedals into it
