Right, after my laptop dieing after only 15 months, I had to quickly get an emergency thing. Found a Packard Bell iMedia A2620 for £320, so got that.

AMD Athlon II x3 @ 2.7ghz
3gb RAM
320gb HDD
nVidia 9200 integrated graphics

It's all lovely and great apart from the last bit.. Which isn't .

So basicly I'm looking at putting a new card in there when I have the money to. I was looking around and noticed that a 1gb HD4850 is better than a 512mb 9800gt but for the same price pretty much.

The 4850 is a good card, Ben has one and he seems to run everything fine. 2 others to look at would be the GTS250 - basically the same price and performance as the ATi and the 4870 - £10 more but a better card.

I have no problems with my card at all, but if you can spend an extra £20 I would buy a 4870 1gb card

Ok thanks, I'll think about the 4870 . £20 sounds like a good trade off for it looking at benchmarks .

Just got to find the right screen now, but not so important at this moment in time as it'll probably be Spring next year when I get it.

Well I'm not waiting that long for a new card, just the new screen .

Having to make by with an integrated nVidia 9200 at the moment, which as you can imagine isn't so fun

Jamie, if you can get the latest ATI cards you will be future proof. Or wait until Nvidia release their cards, ATI will respond with a price reduction on theirs. Better for consumer if competition is around.
