New version (1.15) of the Pikes Peak Climb

It can be downloaded from HERE:
http://forum.racedepartment.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=935

Changes in version 1.15
- "New" textures for mountain, road and vegetation
- Minor changes in terrain elevation (just a couple of nodes)
- New grass
- 3D Objects and spectators added (you need "Great Britain (RBR)" XPack
DOWNLOAD FROM HERE IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT. Put this XPack inside the
Xpacks subfolder of the PikesPeak115 project folder)

A friend of mine, named VCA, has edited a video climbing the Pikes Peak
with version 1.15. He does it in 10:26 :skywalker:. Enjoy it!

Zaxxon, do you plan on doing this track for rFactor as well?

Only with the very first version I was able to export it for rFactor. Since then when I try to export it I get an error. As I don't play rFactor I didn't bother to look for a solution.

I don't know what I am doing that makes the exportation process for rFactor fail.

Any idea?

Not without being able to load your track in BTB and to take a peek ... but that would mean I would need your entire venue folder (with xpacks used) to open it ... and I would emagine that would be a huge file ...

:) I have always uploaded the complete venue folder. You can download it and open with BTB. You can change everything you need.

This time I have just not included the "Great Britain (RBR)" Pack because it is too big.

Sorry, I never had checked it out because I don't race RBR .... but I will take a look when I get a chance ...

Thanks

Update:

I Loaded the track into BTB however only the 2D loads. I have all the XPacks that is called out in the Venue.xml ...

But I have nothing in the 3Dview mode. Bizare to say the least ...

The elevation of the track is the "real" one, around 4000m. May be you are watching 0m altitude on the 3D view and you should click the wheel on the upper_right corner to drive the track, or press "J" on the top view to jump to a specific position.

GTR2 Track Genk(Belgium)

Well, as Brendon suggested, I'll add a little message here.
As you can see, I've added a track in the downloadsection for GTR2.
As you can read in the text added with the track, it was actually just meant for personal use, but I'm having a little problem with it, so I thought, why not let other people try it out, and maybe someone can fix this problem.
As I said, it is just a simple track, with only the most necassary details on it, but nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy it.
:wink2:

Pikes Peak Climb. Version 1.20

I have uploaded a new version of the Pikes Peak Climb.
http://forum.racedepartment.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=935

Changes in last version (v1.20):

  • Completely new terrain
  • New road. Both altitude and position are new

  • Position of the first half of the road has been slightly changed to better fit the mountains. Position data from Google Earth is not reliable for this part of the road.

  • Road is smoother in the hairpins
  • New vegetation

  • The are more tree's types, and new bushes
  • Vegetation reaches higher altitude, matching videos and satellite info.
  • Vegetation components change with altitude, as they do in the real track
  • New 3D object: a house

  • Starting and finishing parts of the track have been changed

  • Road's texture changes

  • New mountain's texture

You can download the files needed to race in RBR from here:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ou2wok

The zip does NOT include the last RBR_RX plug-in nor the folders structure created by BTB when exporting. If you don't have them I can upload another zip.

I hope you enjoyed it

Thanks! Very fantastic job!

1.
But I got some problem when it loading:
http://www.freeweb.hu/autosim/palya/pikesv120problem.jpg

2.
And I see a black wall (both side of the track) on the 2. half of the track.
You use a png file for a full transparent texture (like liquido on his malaga track), but i don't know why. :) I make a transparent dds file and rewrite mat and materials ini. And after it the wall is transparent. If anybody have this problem I will put here a link of my rar file which contains the texture and the inis.:wink2:

1) I get exactly the same errors.

I think there are two different problems:

- Grass002 has no material (.rbr) associated in the Default xpack. This is easy to solve, but I haven't tried to do it.

- The second one is related to a fence from "Great Britain (RBR)" xpack. I asked in the forum looking for a solution and nobody answered.
http://forum.racedepartment.com/bobs-track-builder/17970-problem-great-britain-rbr-object.html

This fence dissappears when racing

2) I also get a black wall in the second part of the track when I play RBR in Windows Vista. In Vista I make the same changes as you have done to get it right:). May be it is a problem with the directx version in Vista.

Thanks! Very fantastic job!

Hi all,
To say thanks for all of the BTB content people have shared here I have uploaded an RBR version of a rally track I'm currently working on.
I'm having a blast with it in Rfactor as I don't own RBR.
If you would like to see a beta video from V0.6 checkout.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCKXHTW_DOs[/ame]
I also have the Rfactor version uploaded at NG.
Thanks to all, I hope you enjoy.

Note: I just had a thought can you free drive in RBR as there is more than one road you can drive down.
Not sure about wrong way errors etc.

Rulers Xpack

Hi all.

I've just uploaded a little Xpack which I hope will help you all.

http://forum.racedepartment.com/downloads/btb-library/38/rulers-xpack-1226/

I have found it difficult to work out how tall trees & other objects are in BTB.
So I made a couple of rulers to help with scale in our projects.

There's a 10 metre vertical one. (good for trees etc..)
And a 200 metre horizontal one. (which is good for measuring distance signs etc..)

Just delete them before you Export.:)

Cheers

Any direct solution to this? I get the exact same problem.
