Alright when was that again.....?

I wonder who will win, in Hamilton's absence? Clearly, there's no way he could agree to race in a country with such an appalling record on human rights

In all fairness to Hamilton, it’s not his decision to make. Anyway, F1 never gave a damn about human rights. They raced in Argentina and Brazil during military dictatorships, in South Africa during apartheid, in China, Bahrein and Abu Dhabi now, etc. There are rumours of a race one day in Saudi Arabia, which would really be appalling.

One could hope it would have changed with new owners, but money talks. By the way, how « wonderful » that these new owners are called « Liberty » media!

Hypocrisy is a wonderful thing. People at Liberty Media vow to stand against racism and all that stuff while at the same time -in this case, quite literally- getting in bed with governments that to this day still deprive women, people of different skin tones, people of different sexual orientations and overall (or otherwise) dissidents of basic human rights, let alone equal human rights.

Yay, a race will be held at a Tilke creation that is not a complete and utter abortion of a circuit.

Want to take bets that their local dictator will be the sole spectator (along with his security staff) attending the event for his own private amusement, while elsewhere in Turkey (and especially close to a certain border) there's a certain group of people being oppressed and treated like animals destined to the slaughterhouse.
Yo dude don't worry, we got Hamilton! He's going to kneel and fix everything!

I'm turkish and i approve of this message. I'm a huge fan of the circuit (not because it's a 2 hour drive away, it's just spectacular) but this guy is on the money.

I think the guy that made the YouTube video link below hit it on the head.

Why Formula 1 is the Pinnacle of Hypocrisy

Pretty clueless aren't we? That's what happens when your only source of information is mainstream media.

Do you know how many Syrian refugees Turkey hosts? More than 4 million.

Do you know how many of those "opressed certain group of people" live in Istanbul? More than 2 million. Do you know how many "certain group of oppressed people" are teachers, doctors, government officials, lawyers of this country? Hundreds of thousands.

Depriving women of what? Turkey is one of the first nations in the world where women fully had the right to vote and be elected. Some 30 years before Greece. Also before Italy, Spain, France, Japan.

And if we are to start with actual crimes, then we should never race in Belgium. Due to Leopold reasons. Or Germany, or France or pretty much nowhere except like 5 tracks in the calendar.

Generally these kind of people "appear" to talk about humanity, while they have a different toxic political agenda. Get your news from multiple, preferably non-mainstream sources, and not from this kind of people.
