Braking vs the ai

Just getting back into rre after the latest update.... One thing I have noticed is if I brake the same time as the ai coming into a corner the ai will brake better than me leading me to bump the back of their car....is this something I am doing wrong when I'm braking?

You're not the only one, I've seen posts from others with the same opinion. It's something I don't like either.

No, it's not you. This is something that's been discussed many times before (on the Sector3 forum). The AI definitely seems to have the edge under braking but you can adapt to it. I hope Sector3 look into this at some point.

Also increase your brake strength as most the cars default at 95% which to me feels weak and it helped shorten the braking distance but not as good as the Ai

I really don't get why things like this just continue to exist. It just seems like a basic to me.... The game specialises in bumper to bumper racing yet it still forces you to drive differently. I keep trying this game and stop playing...i bought it in October and stopped playing as was fed up getting tapped out by the ai. Now that seems to be ok now. Initially I was thrilled by this patch but now this braking is just annoying me. I really do hope they sort this out! Seems like it is starting to all come together. As much as I love rf2 I want to play championships offline like the rre experiences. Had upped my brake pressure to 97 last night but might try 100

The only workaround I've found is proper downshifting while braking. Basically, I've learned to adapt by down shifting at very high RPMs, not something I'd do in a real life car.

and until it was changed recently, people wondered why their transmissions would end up damaged frequently.
