The British Automobile Racing Club is holding its annual awards evening on 21st Feburary, and will reward British motorsport’s finest from 2014.

This year the BARC’s Gold Medals will be given to both Lewis Hamilton for his F1 driver’s championship win last year, and to Allan McNish for a stellar career that has seen him win the Le Mans 24 Hours three times and the 2013 World Endurance Championship.

Lewis won’t be able to attend the ceremony because of testing commitments in Barcelona on that date, but a video of him receiving the award at Mercedes team’s headquarters in Brackley will be shown. McNish will be there, as will reigning British Touring Car Champion Colin Turkington. He’ll be honoured at the ceremony alongside winners of the ToCA support series and the many championships the BARC itself organizes throughout the year.

The awards evening will take place at the Chesford Grange Hotel near Kenilworth in Warwickshire, and for anyone interested in more information or to book tickets (starting from £75 for non-members), contact Mandy Curley at BARC HQ on 01264 882200 or email mcurley@barc.net.
