Exclusively for the business-to-business environment, Slightly Mad Studios have confirmed the release of Project CARS PRO.

Developed as a professional and events entertainment piece of software, based on the Project CARS 2 racing game, PCARS PRO has been "designed from the ground-up" to suit the needs of the ever growing location-based entertainment centres and events industry.

“We spent a lot of time listening and talking to our partners and clients before we built Project CARS Pro,” said Stephen Viljoen, COO at Slightly Mad Studios. “What we came away with was a keen sense of what they needed from a professional software product, and we went ahead and built Project CARS Pro around those exact needs.”

“Project CARS Pro is really a game-changer in the LBE space,” added Viljoen. “Aside from all the best-in-class technology and gameplay and content, the product will free venue operators from having to spend their time running the software and allow them to focus on what matters most—their customers. And as we know, satisfied customers is one of the key ingredients to successful LBE venues.”
Featuring many of the cars and tracks that make up the Project CARS game franchise, this new version will be exclusively available for business use rather than on home PC and consoles... so you will have to hang tight a little longer for the in-development Project CARS 3...

Project CARS PRO Features:
  • Extensive cars and tracks offer a wide and varied choice for operators and clients.
  • Best-in-class car handling, physics, and graphics.
  • Customizable content to suit all customer tastes, experience- and skill levels.
  • Manage session duration with ease.

Have they actually done some market research?

I have walked around many paddocks and NONE, no driver has ever told me they use PC2. It's always the same response, IRacing, RF2 and AC (in that order) usually.

Built from the ground up, in this short space of time?

Hopefully a "client" will purchase it and I will test it in two weeks time.
PCars Pro doesn't appear to be intended for that market in the first place. Their announcement and website are all about running and managing venues with single or multiple seats, i.e. trade shows, gaming tournaments, etc. I see no reason to assume they haven't done market research in the entertainment venue market

I don't know what is the problem with this. This is basically PC2 with a bit tweaked UI and they are selling it to companies. It isn't a development over PC2 and if there is a market for this then I see no problem with this project and in the end all of the profit they earn from this will go towards PC3.

I'd like to understand what does that means:

"Best-in-class car handling, physics, and graphics"

Why all the products from all the companies are the best in the world? PCars has had the best everything since the first version...as well as AC and most of the products concerning simracing...
I do not understand if they think we are stupid or they do not care about their customers or as simple as they just care abut making money without giving anything proportional back.

Having a good marketing campaing is what products need, which has nothing to do about saying my product is the best nor paying racing drivers to say that this or that sim is most amazing thing

This thread is not to blame of my opinion, but I gets to a point that you get fed up of hearing once after the other the same things.

Please companies (now in general terms) be a bit less hypocrite and give to the people what your product is claiming to do even though you are not going to make as much money (ethical and business principles)

Is there really a market for this type of thing? Certainly in the US I've never seen an "arcade" filled with sim rigs.

There have been several. I think the biggest of which was Silicon Motor Speedway in the mid 90's. It was Nascar specific, but with motion cockpits and huge screens there was nothing like it available and it was great fun. They had locations all over the US, and though the parent company went bankrupt around 2001, I think a few franchise locations remained open several more years. I think Simraceway had a big location in CA a while back, but that might have been the only location. Done right, I think there is definitely a market, and starting at actual race tracks is a great way to insure interest in the subject matter.

The way I view it, the more products that bring sim racing into the public view, the better chance the increased exposure brings more dollars into the sims we love. Sure, there will be a lot of schlock casual/arcade titles that go along with that to sift through, but some of those casual players will also pursue the more sim oriented offerings. Not everything will be hardcore, but the more people interested in the subject, the more dollars potentially available to the hardcore developers.

How do you know?

Given the time SMS has had to deepen their knowledge of the tech in PC2, I'd be surprised if they didn't develop it over PC2...

I have the PRO version and I can confirm you that clear progress in this area.

The game has an excellent FFB in the PRO version.

I think I can make a return on the product quickly and give my feelings. I am extremely happy to see that the studio is progressing very well and is targeting the professional market. The exchanges with SMS is extremely fast and I can only congratulate the studio.

I confirm that the game uses the base pcars2 but has had many changes.

Here, in the PRO version everything has been done to facilitate the implementation of the game The menus are ultra simple, and extremment well done. Simple and efficient. The loading time is reduced.

The management of the VR is quite surprising. The studio keeps a good lead over the competition in this area. Another surprise is the management of the servers from the interface. Extremely efficient to set up.

How much are you paying for it?

I've sent a message to them regarding the price of a license, and they told me that one single license costs 1000£ haha
Remember, PCars Pro is a commercial license that allows you to use it for business purposes. You can not legally use a personal license from Steam for a business, you need something like this instead. And 1000£ sounds in-line or maybe cheaper than what I had heard about the Assetto Corsa or rF2 commercial licenses.

Ok that's is great, already someone who can confirm at least it is a lot better than it was...but is it enough to claim it is the best out there? If the answer is yes, it'd be good to have a comparison. Taking in count the only icons you have on the screen are about Slightlymad Studios ptoducts I'd like to think that your opinion is not suggested nor influenced by the company. Is it like that?

Another question how this affects none racing drivers? Will we have any chance to get any PRO? because otherwise it does not have any sense to keep speaking about this.

Thanks for you answer, appreciate it!
