Reiza Studios have dropped a new build update for their Automobilista 2 racing simulation, adding two new and exciting pieces of content to the simulation.
  • BMW M6 GT3 added.
  • Ginetta G55 GT4 Added.
  • Physics and AI improvements.

Another impressive collection of updates and improvements have come the way of Automobilista 2 fans recently, with build update 1.0.6 of the simulation having dropped on Steam - and with it has come new content for good measure, in the form of the BMW M6 GT3 and Ginetta G55 GT4 cars - further expanding these popular classes within the title.

To be fair, AMS 2 is currently already rather rich in content, so perhaps the most interesting aspect of this build release is yet further refinements to the AI and physics within the title - two areas where it would be fair to say Reiza Studios need to apply the most polish, so hopefully this new build represents yet another step in the right direction for the popular Brazilian development team.

  • Fixed issue where too much chat history was played back in some instances
  • Seat adjustment input is now continuous (hold to move)
  • Adjusted various background image anchors to improve display on 16:10 and triple screen

  • Slightly increased longitudinal slip in Cup / Stock 2020 / Proto P3-P4 tires

  • Initial steps to reduce the impact of small Front-to-Rear collisions between AI (as seen at race starts especially with vehicles of differing performance)

Sadly i feel the same, i don't know what it is with this sim.

On one day it feels great and is loads of fun.

Next patch, same car, same track but all of a sudden it does not feel as good anymore.

FFB is a vague mess for me since the latest patch, very loose and with little useful feeback. No feel for the limit of the tires at all.

I remember enjoying the Porsche GT4 a couple of patches ago but today i did not even want to finish the race with this car. There was a discussion on the official forum where people claimed that cars could feel totally different within one session. So in the end i don't even know if it's just another bug or just me not having a great day.

AI is indeed much better but this game always feels like one step forward, at least two steps back.

I had the same problem, even my custom ffb stopped working for no reason one time but after recalibrating the wheel is all good as before.
So try recalibrating your wheel at least if you do not want to delete the AMS2 files in My Documents because there seem to be problems with the ffb.
 
Same here. I hope reiza will improve t300 support soon. This is easily 2 levels below AMS1.

FFB on T300rs is very good now and it has been for a while, what are you not ok with?
You could try the custom ffb made by NuScorpii for my T300rs is better than the default.

Agree with your general points, but don't agree about latest Default. The Default is better than ever, as long as you don't forget to tune the Damping (probably setting it to 0 for any non-direct drive wheel would be a good start) and are not afraid of using some LFB (it isn't a sign of a lack of manhood related to your wheels, people). Once I increased LFB from where I had it traditionally, I got much better feel at centre without losing any of the new details and subtle feedback that is better in Default than any Custom file I have tried so far. I am sure it is possible to get it in a Custom file, but it may be more difficult than we would like. That being said, it is great to have Custom files as an option for whatever reason someone prefers to use one.
I'll give your suggestions another try as I admit it's been a few updates since I've explored the extremes in regard to the in-game FFB settings. I have been using some (up to 25%) in-game damping and LFB but, it wasn't enough to sort the center feel issue.

Nuscorpii's on old FFB had the best center feel.
New default is not super bad, a bit jolty and still a bit weak in center, but nowhere as bad as before.
LFB is a must even on DD wheels, but in game damper is a fidelity killer. If you can, try to use one in driver instead.

Yeah, I did use Nuscorpii custom version for a time, it was very good. I suspect the in-game damping will still affect detail too much for me but, I'll increase LFB significantly and see how that works.

I just hope Reiza keeps improving the sim and doesn't listen to all this nonsense.

It baffles me how every single small update report get's over 100 comments and over half of those are just baseless complaints about things most people have no idea how it works.

I edited my comment as I certainly don't want it to be viewed as you mention(baseless complaint). Not that you were referencing my comment. I'm fully aligned with your second sentence and personally love to love on AMS2.
