Assetto Corsa | Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO Talk 'n' Drive

A new car coming to Assetto Corsa in 2020, and it's a Ferrari? Sounds like a good opportunity to dust off the racing gloves and take it out for a spin if you ask me...
  • Testing the upcoming Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO.
  • New car coming to Assetto Corsa as part of Hublot Ferrari Esport Series.
  • Car will be made freely available to players who register for the series.

Yes, unbelievably we've had two new manufacturer supported high profile car releases for Assetto Corsa in the last couple of weeks, firstly with the stunning KTM X-Bow GT4 that dropped on July 26th, and now the recent news that Ferrari plan to release their 488 Challenge EVO race car as part of an upcoming new official esport series.

Frankly, I'm delighted to see new and high quality content in Assetto Corsa, as it has served as a great opportunity to reacquaint myself with the simulation after a significant period of time away, and helps to breathe new life into a title that continues to be expanded in impressive ways by the modding community.

So, an official Ferrari in a legendary sim... that just cries out for a video don't you think? Here is my thoughts and impressions from the upcoming Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO in Assetto Corsa:

The Ferrari Hublot Esport Series is set to begin in September 2020 for both Professional and Amateur sim racers, with registrations for the series open to EU residents over the age of 18 from August 7th. Those players who register for the series will receive this new Ferrari, along with a selection of custom liveries that will be used throughout the duration of the championship.

The 488 Challenge EVO is as the name suggests, and evolution of the already well established one make series racer - having been revealed to the world at the end of 2019 and set to take centre stage for the 2020 racing season. Benefiting from increased aerodynamic performance, more power, extra grip and improved safety features alongside the more aggressive styling characteristics over its predecessor, the car absolutely looks on point in both real and virtual environments - but what does it feel like to drive? Well, check out the video within this article to find out!

Assetto Corsa is available now on both PC and console.

Sorry about my comment about the V8SCORSA mod (Yes Off Topic) my apologies.
I was just stating that how good Assetto Corsa is for mods.
Anyhow I am also looking forward to the Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO
Isn't this a kind of a mod in a sense? Like the X-Bow GT4 Mod For Assetto Corsa?

Damn, I wouldn't want to register for a series where I'm likely not able to drive in. Still would want the car though :p Hopefully there will be other means to obtain it later?

Lot of people registering without intention to participate would cause annoyances for the event organizers, I'd assume?

Well I still think its the best simulator on the market on PC @Paul Jeffrey "despite its age" still offers the best all round simulation experience,
great video look forward to more!
i'd agree, only if they introduced the update to the tyre model that acc got, as this game suffers the kerbs of slippery death the same as acc used to before the update

It's good to have new official cars for the game but, man, these modern racing cars are so boring to drive... I almost fell asleep while watching the video.

community.
I am delighted that this will give you the opportunity to drive again in AC but I am also very disappointed to read that you have not done so for "a significant period of time".

We have more updates and new content in AC every week than all the other SIM updates and content put together.
I am downloading high quality content in AC every week and I am driving AC almost daily.

I understand some might prefer other title but AC is still very much actual graphically with the updates and physically still my favourite to drive. The very high daily peak number of AC driver seem to show I am not the only one thinking AC is better than ever and has a tremendous SIM experience to offer to any SIM enthusiast.

I hope many like you will realize AC is just too good to miss.

Never happened to me once inside AC hitting a kerb and flying off the track,
Don’t like the tyre model in ACC either always feels off, still enjoyable game to play though.

It is quite remarkable, that the old dame AC is still on the top and far away from being outdated. I like very much the immersion of driving provided by AC - pimped with CM + Sol + RHMAC. This in combination with high quality DLCs and MODs as well make AC to my number one sim. Always worth to spent time offline & online. Congrats to Kunos. Well done.

Now I am really curious about the Ferrari Hublot Challenge - the only point I am missing is the link. I mean the download link ... :)

Cheers
