Why are they telling us the engine forward thing as if it is new?

AC1's Porsche pack modeled the 911 with engine and transmission swapped ("mid-engine"-ish I guess) and front double wishbones just fine.

(Apart from Kunos talking gibberish to us here it also kinda invalidates the entire 911 concept when it comes to speed in racing. You can't have the engine in the rear, and you don't get away with a simple strut in the front.)

I don't get your point. It's just the introduction for the Gen2 911GT3, right?
For the current GTE / GTLM RSR the flipped the rear engine 180°.
For the GT3 they just moved the engine about 5 cm to have more space for a larger diffuser.

It's depending to your hardware. ACC can look astonishing at high end PC's. On the other hand it will look really bad at lower end PC's.
The recommended specs of ACC "Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB, Radeon RX 580 8GB" are by far not enough to run the game fully maxed out.

I9-9900K/GTX1070OC here and in combination with Reshade ACC is looking good and runs fine at a single screen.
But not as good as at the official screenshots and videos.

More is always better but ACC...(if a system is configured right)...will run and look fine on Ryzen 2600X with that GTX1070.
I know this, because those were my specs before moving to the current setup.
A lot of the performance is left on the table by guys not tweaking the Nvidia CP or optimising controller speeds.
I did a few wet, night races with full grids on that setup and it was smooth and quite fun.
The only reason I went to the 3600X was because I started doing more video transcoding..

Am I missing something? I can read clearly that it was an update. I like the update a lot! Thanks! But the old Porsche is gone? I hope it was added not updated because I like the old ones too! Wasted in the history books! I'm sure they still have the old files somewhere and wish that they can still bring them back.

None of the old cars are gone. You have to select 2018 season in the overview track/cars. With the update season 2019 should be preselected.
You cannot mix both seasons AFAIK, since they have different BoP.
