Assetto Corsa 1.2 update + bonus pack available

02.jpg
Kunos Simulazioni has updated Assetto Corsa to version 1.2, adding five new cars and the circuit of Zandvoort along with a long list of added features and fixes.

According to the developers the physics engine has been updated (as previously anticipated), with improvements for all cars and a tweaked FFB response.

Importantly, the AI has been updated and is supposedly capable of a more human-like and aggressive driving performance. I still haven't had the chance to try it out, but I'm looking forward! The update itself weighs 625MB on Steam.

Here's the full changelog:

Hey Dan,

Thanks for your answer mate. Just pick a track that you have hot lapped prior to the update and see if you can replicate your best time. When you have time that is, interested to hear your thoughts?

Cheers mate, AussieStig

I can't remember, I've played since the update but haven't played for quite some time before that... I'll have another blast on something tonight and let you know :)

Cheers mate, look forward to it.

OK so I did a few laps and here's what I did...

Car: Corvette C7R
Track: Mugello

Previous lap record: 1:55.264
New lap record: 1:52.639

That's a total of -2.625 shaved off my previous record

**BUT**

There are a couple of things to remember

a) I've probably become a much better driver since I originally set this time
b) I set the original time with a gamepad, I'm now driving on a G27...

Make of this what you will :)

Hope this helps

Cheers mate, thanks for your feedback. Maybe another combo to try..............if you have the Mazda787b and you have a time on the full Nordschleife circuit I would be curious to know your times on this one as well? This is the combo I am questioning, because I have set a time of 6:16.223 and after the update I can't get much under 6:19...............So I have tried to replicate this time pre update and I could manage doing a 6:16.221:) but now post update I struggle to get this time and I know I am working just as hard as l was before.

For reference, here is the lap on the YouTubes. cheers again mate, AussieStig

Still, how many physics engines are out there having their frequencies corresponding to 60 Hz? Not to mention there are other refresh rates and also frame rates can be uncapped/capped oddly.
I don't know of any, more common is to use a fixed number of milliseconds, since that's what actually gets fed into the physics, and 60Hz doesn't line up to that at all (thus problems with AC capping at 58.4 or whatever). So you'll see 250Hz (4ms), 333Hz (3ms), 500Hz (2ms) typically.

Hmmm. I can't really say much about that as my 787B is buggering up at the moment (FMOD sound issues, can't hear the engine hence I can't shift properly without spending most of my time looking at the rev meter). Also, I've never been very good on Nordschleife anyway, especially in the more powerful cars....

Also, I've never driven the 787 on Nords before, so I haven't got a benchmark to compare against :)

It's just that usually they go with the amount of Herz rather than with timeslicing when describing their engines.

Hey mate. Crazy lap!!! I'd be really really interested in a full unedited cockpit view. This is pure madness! Looks almost like sped up video, I can not believe you have such good reactions! Nice!:)

Hey mate, thanks for your compliments. I have uploaded the unedited lap in cockpit view. The original edited lap and this video are not altered in any way or sped up. Just raw recordings using OBS.

Enjoy and I look forward to your reaction. Cheers AussieStig
