I think we were on the practice server at the same time on Wednesday - you should make your mark on the Leaderboard, to make it the first six ;). I wonder what kind of top-secret training regime @Derek44 is up to...

no kind of secrets, simply this week i had races monday, wednesday (adac gt masters), yesterday and tonight; last night after the race i had some laps in slovakia, the real trick in this track is to find the right lines

Obviously it'll be a cockpit stream this time. Shame I can't drive and TV stream. :(

Edit: Had to cancel the stream. Apparently I can't race and stream anymore as it turns R3E into a slideshow. :poop:

So what is up with RACE2, I was disco'd and couldn't get back in.
Also, on discord, they don't have me as premium and I can't get in the room. Why didn't RD update me to premium?

The server is still up and the race is on, so the disconnection must have been on your end. Unfortunately, if you disconnect from the server at any time after qualifying has finished, it's impossible to rejoin. It's something we keep asking S3 to fix but so far no joy. :(

Why didn't RD update me to premium?
I don't really know how Discord works, to be honest. I think members with premium are supposed to be automatically upgraded, but I don't know how it knows who is who or what the criteria is for recognition.

Well, that was a disaster. Way off the pace so I was always likely to end up dead last, but still managed to spin and flat spot my tyres which made the tail end of race one a bugger. Then in race two I was all over the place. Finally hit a wall (yes, managed it even on this massively wide track!) and damaged my suspension. Couldn't turn right after that so it was time to retire.

Amazing how quickly you get rusty when you don't race for a while.

I'm sure we have all been in that social situation where you meet someone new, and they do nothing wrong to you but you just don't get on.

I've got nothing against Slovakia Ring - I'm sure they're lovely once you get to know them. I just doubt I'll be going for a pint with Slovakia Ring any time soon.

P.S sorry Matt Sisson for nudging you off at T1, lap 1, race 1. Should have thought a bit more.

Thanks goffik for arranging the race as ever. Hope you all enjoyed it!

Great racing everyone, as always!
9 wing didn't help me tonight as I lost on straights anything I would win in S2.
Race 1, average start and on the way to turn 1 I am thinking "nobody mentioned cold brakes". Then braking "all good, turn in "all good" middle of the corner "helloooo". But had fantastic race afterwards. :D

In race 2, tried to attack in front didn't pass. Tried to defend from fast guys behind but realized that I would make mistake and probably take someone with me, so went careful. When you guys were gone I was left with @Rick K , great race mate and fantastic pace in the finish. P7 and P5 tonight was great result for me.

Thanks Ross for organizing, and make sure to come back more often, you need to get those skills back. ;)

Well I'll take Slovakia Ring for a pint then. You can ask Most :)

No problem on the nudge. A shame because P6 is the kind of Quali I dream about, but I'll save getting annoyed about taps when I can go a whole race without a self-inflicted spin or terrible overtake into the gravel :)

Was so close to my first podium in R2 thanks to Calvyn's spins, only to **** myself into the hairpin on the last lap. I need a racing pyschologist!

Information

Welcome to the Aquila CR1 Series! This will be a stint of races over the next four weeks, the idea being to add a little friendly competition to our club racing. These events remain open to drivers of all levels, so please don't be afraid to sign up! Details of the rounds are as follows:

20/06/20 - Rounds 1 & 2: Zandvoort - Grand Prix
27/06/20 - Rounds 3 & 4: Autodrom Most - Grand Prix
04/07/20 - Rounds 5 & 6: Slovakia Ring - Grand Prix

11/07/20 - Rounds 7 & 8: Road America - Grand Prix

Before you sign up, please be aware of the following:

1) The Aquila CR1 is a free car, no purchase necessary. You only need the tracks above to participate.

2) Participation in all events in the series is not mandatory. You can sign up or not, as you please.

3) If you sign up for an event then you are expected to finish both races. It's just good sportsmanship and shows respect to your fellow drivers.

4) Points will be awarded for each race and tracked over the series, but there are no prizes. It's just for fun.

5) Every driver should try to use a unique livery. Please state your chosen car number when you sign up. If all liveries are already taken (ie, we have 24 drivers signed up), duplicates are fine.

6) Full damage will be enabled, which includes the flat-spotting of tyres.

7) Despite the extra competition, our regular club rules are still in effect. The Golden Rule absolutely still applies to these events.
