Sorry for the newbie question. I'm using the default setup, with a few minor changes, but I can't seem to find a way of keeping my left front & rear tyres from getting scorching hot. Does anybody have any tips?

Also, I don't know if it's my wheel, but I seem to be jumping up a gear (not down) without touching the paddle shifters.

8 right turns and only 3 right, is normal that left tyres are getting really hot, try lowering the brake pressure to avoid flatspots for the front left and reduce antirol bar in the rear

for double changes you have an ingame set to avoid the problem

Good racing guys! Lots of respect being shown out there in two tight races. A few taps here and there, but nothing too naughty as far as I saw. :whistling: Congratulations to the podiums and thanks to all who took part. Here are the results!

Information

Welcome to the Aquila CR1 Series! This will be a stint of races over the next four weeks, the idea being to add a little friendly competition to our club racing. These events remain open to drivers of all levels, so please don't be afraid to sign up! Details of the rounds are as follows:

20/06/20 - Rounds 1 & 2: Zandvoort - Grand Prix
27/06/20 - Rounds 3 & 4: Autodrom Most - Grand Prix
04/07/20 - Rounds 5 & 6: Slovakia Ring - Grand Prix
11/07/20 - Rounds 7 & 8: Road America - Grand Prix

Before you sign up, please be aware of the following:

1) The Aquila CR1 is a free car, no purchase necessary. You only need the tracks above to participate.

2) Participation in all events in the series is not mandatory. You can sign up or not, as you please.

3) If you sign up for an event then you are expected to finish both races. It's just good sportsmanship and shows respect to your fellow drivers.

4) Points will be awarded for each race and tracked over the series, but there are no prizes. It's just for fun.

5) Every driver should try to use a unique livery. Please state your chosen car number when you sign up. If all liveries are already taken (ie, we have 24 drivers signed up), duplicates are fine.

6) Full damage will be enabled, which includes the flat-spotting of tyres.

7) Despite the extra competition, our regular club rules are still in effect. The Golden Rule absolutely still applies to these events.

Really like the rhythm you get into at this circuit. Wish I'd swallowed my pride and left TC on for Race 1. Maybe it wouldn't have seen me hurtle into a barrier before lap 2.

Spent most of Race 2 trying to balance keeping Sasha behind me and not ploughing into the back of Steve Le Gallez. Really intense at times. Doesn't help that I'm atrocious at the final corner. Probably should have done more practice this week and not wasted my evenings on My Summer Car...

Nice racing everyone. Looking forward to Autodrom Most. Another circuit I don't know at all. The layout certainly looks nice.

Voice Chat Update

RaceDepartment has decided to switch it's voice chat services from TeamSpeak to Discord. While the TS servers will still be available for a while, there's no sense in delaying the inevitable so the R3E club will use Discord from this event onwards.

To join the RD Discord server you can either click the link in the OP, click the big DISCORD button at the top of the forums, or click here. Once you're in you will see the R3E club voice chat in the list on the left. Just click it to start chatting.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not a big fan of the Discord text chat aspects. I would therefore ask that those taking part in R3E events still post their questions and general chit-chat in the forum event threads as usual, so that we don't end up with a split community. I for one won't be monitoring the Discord text chat, so will only be found here outside of live events.

If you don't already have it, you can download Discord here.
