I've the same Question... What tools are available?
I'm using Maya 3D 2016 Student. And i'm working on a rF2 version. But AMS has Go karts too.

Really looking forward to creating some tracks as part of learning to model 3D

Otherwise I need to start looking for tuts on how to create AMS tracks. Couldnt seem to find one yet

rF2 has the GJED tool. It's a tool that reads a FBX file. (From Maya, 3Ds Max, Blender, ...)
In that tool you apply the shaders the game works with. Assetto Corsa has a similar tool: KN5 editor.

But i didn't know how things are done in GSCE or AMS. Do they work with the rF1 3ds max plugins? And then covert the rF1 version to GSCE with the rF1 converter... I don't know. But in that case you won't have the latest AMS shaders to work with...

yes, You can create tracks with 3dsmax and rf1 plugins. You just Have to encrypt files after you export them. But dont use versions more recent than v2010

So i need 3ds Max 2010.

I've 3ds Max 2016, Maya 2016 and Blender.
I like how things work in Maya.

Yes, but you need 3ds 2010. It isn't available any more. Hacked versions are unreleable and windows 10 will remind you about it ... every 30 secoonds.

I think i'll take a look at 3dsimed to apply the shaders and create the GMT's.

No plugins for maya or reliable with 3ds 16?

@Patrick Giranthon hey, what nice track are you cooking for us next ?
.. taking a look at your SCE tracks .. Silverstone, Road America or Sebring would be nice additions to AMS with good league potential ... I do realize it is time consuming and I assume you are doing it in your free time for free ... if I can help somehow (and I`m sure others would like to help too) just say a word (testing possibly? texture works, whatever) Thanks!
