AMS 2 | New Hotfix Release And Spa Standalone DLC Issues Resolved

Reiza Studios have deployed a new hotfix update for AMS 2 today, including further information about the current state of play for gamers awaiting to purchase the new Spa-Francorchamps track DLC.

Following on from the big V1.1.0 update deployed by Reiza Studios, apparently an issue with deployment of the new Spa-Francorchamps circuit for players who are looking to purchase the track as a standalone DLC has arisen, meaning those gamers who don't own either the Season Pass or Premium Track Pack are unable to purchase the content for themselves. While Reiza continue to investigate this with Valve, a new update has been deployed and statement on the current state of the DLC access.

Since deploying the build update noted below, it seems like the Steam issue has been resolved and the DLC is now available to purchase! Hurray!

V1.1.0.1 Update Notes:
  • Added International GT3, F-Classic Gen1, GT1 championships
  • Enabled multiple random weather slots in championship seasons
  • Disabled formation lap for championships ith rolling starts
  • Fixed FFB per vehicle adjustment in-session
  • Fixed FFB adjustment localization
  • Fixed Caterham tail lights not working in dark
  • Extensive Spa-Francorchamps art pass, performance improvements, object pop-up & wall hole fixes
  • Adjusted AI performance through various corners for better balance vs player
  • Slightly increased Bathurst AI Grip values
  • GT1 physics revisions: Adjusted engine compression curves & added throttle map for all models; adjusted default coast differential setting; Slightly improved Mclaren F1 GTR engine & center of gravity
  • P1 class physics revisions: corrected G58 weight distribution; added 10-15kg to AJR cars for better BoP accross class
  • GT1 AI callibration pass, GT3 AI rolling resistance adjustment to better match player straight speed
  • Adjusted roll bar rates in Group A cars (requires setup reset)
  • Greatly reduced values for AI simulated times when skipping session (logic appears to have been broken in one of the latter AI code changes so this is a paliative measure to help prevent AI doing much faster times when skipping session until bug is addressed)
  • Time Trial mode now includes all the latest content

AMS 2 - available now exclusively to PC.

They did a huge job even during the holidays, the game is starting to take shape, some adjustments are still missing with some cars and AI then here we are, the feeling of driving the car cannot be compared to AC, I have tried racing setup since early versions. nice, but the feeling of driving a racing car is not there (it is my opinion), the set-up of the car I never understood, I changed everything and nothing happened, with AMS1 and 2 you change something in the setup and the car you have to drive it differently. I stopped playing racing when I tried the stock car extreme always by reiza. Great work REIZA thanks

I was pulling my hair out (what little I had left after this past year) looking for the buy button for Spa since I had the other tracks...so thanks Reiza for clearing that up.

Also big thanks, although I've yet to try it for the changes with regard to BOP for the GT1 cars so quickly.

Just tried it again, so want to like it but I just don't it still feels pcars 2, a bit refined but otherwise dead, braking feel I hated in pcars 2 and it's exactly the same you drop the brakes turn in and have no idea wtf the rear end is doing I just feel disconnected from it, I really am glad people enjoy it and I will continue to check in but I feel spoiled by ACC. If kunos got GT1 oh my sweet lord! One more thing is the AI they are all over the place, too fast in some turns and too slow in others, since there is no competition element I see AI as fundamental to it being playable and it's nowhere near.

Edit, I changed breaking to braking and breaks to brakes because i will get buwwied.

Well, ACC brakes feel good just because it is running with ABS, try to put it off and good luck not locking the whells in a very strange way at low speed (suddenly two tires at same time even in corner), the same flaw inherited from AC BTW.

Weird/questionable crash physics can happen in every sim every one in awhile. If the issue really is that big then I guess it shouln't be difficult for you to get brand new examples for each new complaint rather than using the same video every single time.

Yeah, I don't throw a sim under the bus if the devs don't simulate every single possible scenario that a car may conceivably encounter. I think we're in a golden age of racing simulators, and huge headway has been made in the way of tire physics and overall vehicle dynamics. Even when all that gets "perfected" there's going to be someone complaining that you can't "flood" a carbureted car if you pump the throttle too many times before hitting the starter...

Early access, game release, updates, hotfixes and patchnotes that can take us to the moon, been there, done that with ACC. I applaud Reiza for the hard work but would like to see a balance between Quantity and Quality. I enjoyed PC2 so I have no problem with assets from that game coming here. My concern is the state of that content, mostly unfinished, unpolished and no fixes to past content released. Maybe lets cut down the monthly content and fix the assets we already have, just a kind thought. AI is still broken, cars still bounce all over the place, too many graphic glitches, the long promised December custom championship, yes I will keep waiting. This was meant to be Make or Break but overall, the studio are doing a great job and I admire their efforts but this Madness Engine is not for them.....

That is literally the most recent video I could find, AMS2 crash footage is far and few inbetween. Are Reiza still urging players not to enable damage?

Afaik only Iracing offers somehow realistic crash scenarios with parts flying off etc. However not all cars have this yet. So I'd say AMS2 is in good company with all these other sims which don't have super supreme 150% realistic crashes.

AMS2 and PCARS: Momentum doesnt work.
Assetto Corsa: Literally no damage model.
iRacing: Good damage but is basically a Rent-a-sim.
BeamNG.drive: Best damage but no content. I wish someone would add a BeamNG section to this site.
