Sounds Amplified - Sound Mod Thread

Wow, that`s a suprise, thank you for your great work :) Nice to see great viper sound out there and to see you still working on the sounds :)

Is there a chance 512TR will get a sound in the near future? That`s the one that needs it despeatelly.

I had some more fun with the viper sound. I have to admit the interior sound is spot on, perfectly reassembles the original, great fun :)

There is a room for improvement on the exterior though. It is a bit too high pitched and sounds like it was a different exhaust when you swap between interior/exterior cameras on replay.

It sounds like the one from 0:43 here, while interior is more like from the one on 0:29.

I could delete some of the higher pitch if people really are disturbed by it Granted I've spent less time on the exterior

Or maybe just make it a bit "bassier" if possible? (especially low and mid rpm) I don`t know what really can be done in the FMOD with a already created sound, so more of a question to you, if you are able to slightly "adjust"? :)

It's already booming with bass

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Feels ,a bit like there's too much difference in a tone between interior/exterior considering no roof and windows ;) but in general, the sound is very cool, cruising and pushing it with the interior cam is very immersive, thank you for that

Is there any way I can force the external GT40 sound you made as internal sound? I like the first version you released but it doesn't work well with the Lola T70 Ford, too much cabin echo (for want of a better phrase.)

I think you can just copy the external guid rule to the interior line

Sweet, I'll give that a try. Thanks!

I assume you mean change it from this:
{94f04703-a92c-49cf-a097-734f3e79ec08} vca:/vca_engine_ext
{ff157bb9-ecc1-49da-ad82-5e42fecb2ac9} vca:/vca_engine_int

to this:
{94f04703-a92c-49cf-a097-734f3e79ec08} vca:/vca_engine_ext
{94f04703-a92c-49cf-a097-734f3e79ec08} vca:/vca_engine_int

Edit:

It seems it is in there twice, once near the top of the GUID text as follows:
{e5f55589-e9ff-47f8-ba0c-664827bb8bef} event:/cars/lola_t70_rf2_ford/engine_ext
{dc0becd4-7ef3-4b80-a37d-7f8efc53ecb4} event:/cars/lola_t70_rf2_ford/engine_int

and the one I posted above, not sure whether I need to change both as above or one or something different. Maybe I should do the same for backfire sounds and stuff as it is open top :)

I'm brewing myself some early 512TR soundclips

Early? That's already borderline pornography!

I assume it's actually hardest to get the off throttle sounds right? As when the revs drop quickly it must be hard to avoid that 'synthetic' sound as many samples shift and blend together?

I absolutely love the difference in tone as the revs grow though, for me that's what really makes an engine feel alive. My fun cars (bought mostly for the engines) are an Alfa GTV V6 and a Monaro, the Monaro being a brute at all RPM, but the way the Busso V6 builds in character and then surges for the redline is just magical.
