Advice on Mods/Tracks for GTR2?

Hi Guys,

As a recent purchaser of GTR2 (in the Steam sales :D), I would like some advice on which are the best mods and tracks out there for GTR2. My rFactor and RACE07 installations are full of all sorts of junk, some of which is not so well executed and most of which I do not use... and with a relatively low download limit, I would like some help on selecting mods :D

Power and Glory is one mod I will definitely download, but after that I'm lost as to what content is/isn't good :)

As for tracks whatever you like on Race07 or Rfactor is more less available for GTR2.

With a exception of a few, most of these can be found at No Grip and Drivingitalia.net

Wow that's quite a list - thanks :)

I did decide to proceed to download a few mods, one of which was the Champcar mod that you listed above, but for some reason the cars aren't showing up in game - they're listed but the models don't appear where they would usually spin. Any ideas? I'm stumped :p

When you open the mod file you'll see 3 SIM files, a gdb, tga and a text file. Put those straight into you GTR2 Gamedata folder. This has to be done with all GTR2 mods.

Thanks for the link, I am familiar with their other sites :)

They were there already, however I ran a trace and it appears that there were a ton of missing .HDC files, so I checked and there weren't any in the teams folders. I think I might've downloaded an update or something stupid like that *facepalm* :p.

Hiroshi Awazu I love the Champ Car mod, but for you, can you see the front wheels while in the cockpit view? I can't, and it's really annoying when trying to hit apexes... :p

The only explanation I can give for this is GTR2 doesn't render your car's wheels whilst in cockpit view because the game's default cars are GT, so you can't see the wheels anyway.

Pilsbierbude is a German community for GTR2 (there are others for rFactor (Bockbierbude), GTL (Altbierbude) and Race 07/GTR Evo (Weissbierbude)), and (after signing up) they have a huge amount of tracks and mods available for download, either manually (honestly my preferred method :p) or using their auto-updater. I think their address is www.pilsbierbude.de but I'm not certain.

Where can I find those mods, particularly F1 2009, WTCC, and other formula series? Didn't find these in drivingitalia. Other sites?

F1 1991 is the best mod for open wheelers by far.
Depends what you like to drive. There are tons of mods for GTR2 out there but not that many really great ones. For GT cars, you cant beat NAGP. Google them. Well balanced.
I run my own league and we use their cars. Our fun series, we use DTM 2013 which are really easy to drive and a hell of a lot of fun.
Check us out and see the cars for yourself:
