a couple of pics that i need help with

i'm now done with getting the grid positions right, took me a while but i figured it out. alot of number testing lol.

now i need have 2 more questions. first of all, what is with the purple line shown below, what purpose does it serve??

secondly wth is that, i'm reckoning it has something to do with the camera part of it, which i'm y et to figure out.

lastly , for tonight anyway lol. how does the sky part of it, work. i'm at the point where i need to put a sky in, what do i need to make a sky for this, so instead of driving with a blackness i can have a daylight going on.

edit, got the messed up screen mostly fixed. added a sky, looks much better, still not sure what that purple thing is though.

I'm guessing the purple line is just your grid position, ie where the car appears on the track. Can't say I know for sure though.

And yep as you figured out you just needed a skybox.
