7.1 surround sound

Just wanted to give the sim drivers out there a little tip. If you use headphones and don't have Dolby or surround sound, use Razer surround. This free program from Razer will turn your regular headphones into surround sound without any special hardware and you can save your settings on the cloud. Enjoy.
Forgot to add: The signing up is for the cloud settings and Razer is a legit company like Logitech. You have to mess with the equalizer and the settings to make it sound perfect.

Just as an adjunct to the above I've found if your system has multiple output devices the Razer Surround software can attempt to assign itself as default which can be annoying.

For those looking to use multiple outputs (i switch from 2.1 usb speakers to a 5,1 kit to Sony Pulse Elite headphones when it gets late) try one of these

or

Imho Audioswitch has the better interface but Defaultaudiochanger has been more reliable on my system. Ymmv. Both free & I've no idea why these don't come baked into windows.

Yeah, I'm on a laptop, hooked up to a 55" LED, using headphones most of the time and TV, when nobody is home. If you choose for Razer to be your primary sound, after installation it does make itself primary sound controller. Using the laptop before Razer, it would automatically switch sound devices, but the trade off in sound quality, where all you have to do is manually choose which device you want the sound to come from, is way worth it. Also, I tried to make sure it would completely uninstall without any problems and I wouldn't recommend it, if there were any.
I'm using Turtle Beach's X12's and they are awesome for the price, wish they were cordless, but never worrying about changing or charging a battery is nice.
