After the huge success of the last WEC race at the Nordschleife (click here) with more than 40 drivers on the grid the idea came up to build on this momentum and offer a series of club races with the same format. You can find more details on the upcoming races here.

With the latest release of the Apex Modding GT3 mod both this and the ISI BOP cars are a lot closer on pace. However, the ISI BOP cars will be further refined and their stint length will be brought in line with the Apex Modding cars so that there is no need for adding weight penalties. The GT-R will face a slight reduction in speed after its pace at the Nordschleife was better compared to the other BOP cars.

You will have the following cars to choose from:

Driver/Team notes:
  • Driver swapping is allowed
  • Each car can have 1-2 drivers (Driver Swap Tutorial)
  • All cars must have their headlights on at all times (additional flashing is encouraged when overtaking / lapping)
Lapping
  • Blue flag: signals a faster car is behind you. Caution is required, but moving over is not.
  • The faster car is expected to look for a sensible passing opportunity. They are responsible for initiating a safe pass, but the slower car is equally as responsible for allowing an overtake to occur safely. Stay on the racing line, leaving plenty of room for the overtaking car, and do not make sudden / unexpected movements.
  • When lapping: straights are preferred over corners; corner exits are preferred over corner entries.
  • Slower cars are expected to keep to their racing line and cooperate with safe passes. Moving out of the way is not advised, as it leads to unpredictable situations.
  • Faster cars may flash their headlights to indicate that they are about to make a pass.
  • Patience is key!
Race information:
  • Remember to test pit-stops and driver swaps (Driver Swap Tutorial)
  • Ensure that all drivers in the team have driven some laps in traffic, and different track conditions
  • Whilst not racing or preparing for a driver swap, drivers are not permitted to be on the server; timing software will be provided so that team members are able to monitor the race
  • Presence on TS is not mandatory, but is recommended in case communication with drivers or teams is required
Starting procedure:
  • To be announced
  • Your tyres and brakes will be cold - BE CAREFUL
  • Do not take risks, or attempt to make over-ambitious overtakes - it's a 2-hour race, don't ruin it for yourself or others
  • Ensure that you practise standing starts before the race - please only do this in the pit lane, away from other cars (be aware what's around you)
  • Please ensure you treat other drivers with respect at the start. When was the last time a "brave" move under braking into turn 1 made your race (especially in a 2 hour race)? The drivers in front out-qualified you and probably put quite some effort into practice. Adhesion over ambition. Turn 1 is tricky.
How to sign up:
  • Name all drivers for your car
  • You can always add or remove drivers to your car later on
  • Your final line-up should be clear 24 hours ahead of the event

Cant miss this one!
Sign me up.
Nissan GTR (She had a dramatic weight loss for her wedding pictures in the Eiffel mountains. How much will she pig out on cakes and curries between now and then, will she keep the promises made at the "Schornstein Weight Loss Clinic" or will she relapse and lose her swim suit figure. Stay tuned.)

My attendance is looking a little shakey for Family logistical reasons.
I will confirm later if I can make it.
I love this track and this car, so we will see.

My kids have their graduation and party from the Japanse school this saturday, so hopefully at home while qualy is already running, so no panic if I am there not before it. :)

Now I need to find a time slot to practice. @David O'Reilly can you help me with a setup? ;) Will be driving the same car. :)

My pleasure.
The setup I used last time at Sao Paulo (where I was running in the top few) is in the community folder in setups. Ill link below. Following the Nurburgring experience I will probably be lowering diff lock on coast.
If I make any other changes Ill let you know.
