Does anyone else have this mod installed?

If so, any impressions they would care to express?

My reason for asking is that, if it fits in well with the other GTC76 cars perforrmance-wise, I could add it to the Car List for RDHGP S4.

It ties in to the Porsche 914 in the game (meaning you need to select the 914 in practice or race setup for the Dino to be driveable), it has lots of skins as default, well, it's a Dino.

I'd be very interested in trying this out as our first 3rd party mod because of the impending 76er League, and perhaps making the Dino COTM for August if the feeedback is good...

Let me have your thoughts please gents.

Let us know how you get on please Glenn. :good:

I'm prediciting something like "you can get the arse right out on this fella!" :D

I'm not going to go nuts with the mods, the Dino is getting good reviews elsewhere, very stable and the models fit in well by all accounts, hence my initial interest in that. I d/l this morning but ran out of time before having to leave for work.

You never know - maybe we could have a quick test after tonight's Thompson event? I've got to rekick the server anyway before tonight to get the cars set up properly, I could install it really quickly on the server - it's not an exe mod just a single folder into the "Teams / GTC76" folder.

God, that was an experience I'd rather forget....

Um, lets see...
Power: 146Kw
Weight: 1250kg

It's getting around the same power as the 914, but weighs alot more, so it's massively slow, especially when you compare it to the popular 76 cars... The Escort for example has 60kw more, and weighs near on 400kg less....
Definately a no brainer what is gonna win there!

Also, the gear ratios are no adjustable, and 5th gear is so long that I dont think you'd ever reach the top of it. Well, maybe you would going down Conrod Straight at Bathurst... Or if you dropped it out of a plane from 50,000 ft.

Would definately be a very challenging car to drive, loads of lift off oversteer... And when I mean loads, I mean LOADS... To the point where it's uncatchable most of the time (for my meagre skills anyway).

If you wanna run a mod to give people another car choice Stu, I'd recommend something like the Skyline mod, which has 199kw and 1010kg's.. And it's drivable, and everything is adjustable.

Just my thoughts though. I ran it @ Thompson too. Have a run @ the sprint round, see what peoples thoughts are...

EDIT:

Just ran it at Mugello to try and tune out the lift off oversteer issues.
Managed to tune them out a little bit, but it's still very over steery in corners, while it's catchable, once you've clipped a curb, it becomes alot harder to catch.
It's still very slow though...

I've just given it a quick run at Anderstorp (chosen because I have lots of other car times to compare it to). Pretty much using default setup so far.

Unbelieveably slow, I was getting 4 secs slower than the TC65 Jag Mk2. The handling seemed pretty easy to get used to, and it felt very easy to control, but that is probably due to it being so slow. Is it me, or is there something wrong with the sound? It seems to rev extremely high before reaching the rev limiter, but the sound gets more and more quiet as the revs increase. I found it very hard to know when to change gears, ended up having to go by the tacho and not the sounds.

I also found the brakes extremely poor, taking a long time to stop considering the slow top speed.
Maybe I need to work on the setups or something, but it seems totally uncompetitive to the GTC 76 cars so far.
It looks nice though.

EDIT: I have a proposal for the next League.
All those who didn't drive the Mercedes in the current League must use the Dino, and those who drove the Merc are free to choose another car. Revenge will be mine heh, heh.

OK - slower than the MkII Jag? - that is slow. OK - sounds like a non-starter to me. :(

Nice try, Merc boy.
