2018 RD Bathurst 1000GT General Discussion

I have just received the identical error, which I have never seen before.
It is a windows network error message.
This basically means that no response (either positive or negative) was received from the remote host when the TCP connection attempt took place.
One reason this may happen is because a firewall is blocking the response from the server.
Another reason is that the host name is incorrect.
This could also mean there is a (temporary) problem with the server (or some router along the way). You can try a traceroute to determine whether or not this is true.
Additional information can be found on MSDN here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms832263.aspx
Just thought I drop this here because I had this error somewhere else recently...

To all of those, no my firewall is not blocking me. Never has, and nothing has changed since last night.

I cant be connecting to the wrong host name, cause that's not possible when Im connecting through the launcher.

And if its a temporary problem with the server, its not for everyone, because a few people are on it.

I am assuming its something to do with the mod download. Which is why I am trying to contact Daiman about the final file which he has not shared with us. With this file, we could complete the mod package itself, and therefore have nothing to download from the server, and should be able to connect straight away, as it is during this stage that the error message is shown.

It is obviously something with the server, since more people are having the issue. It could be as you said related to the mod. In this case the connection to the download server that hosts the mod.

Yeah, I was actually on it last night and the night before that. nothing has changed on my pc, which is why I wondered if this was a known problem. :)

*Edit problem is still persisting but i can see people are on the server :'(

*Edit 2: Firewall is not blocking it, I've always made sure firewall doesn't block any incoming or outgoing Rfactor 2 connection. As said this was not an issue last night :)

If you are unable to connect to the server, then try this method. When you tried to enter the server, you downloaded a mod package called Bathurst 1000GT or something like that which wont be installed and will be italic.

What you should do, is reinstall all of the components into your rF2 directory using the packages, Daiman has shared.

The track can be found here:

The skin pack can be found here:
https://www.racedepartment.com/thre...nformation-sign-up.152071/page-7#post-2803425

The safety car can be found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/lsgk51l9odtywlg/RD_Le_Mans_Series_Season_7_Safety_Car_v12.rfcmp?dl=0

Once you have downloaded and installed everything, install the Bathurst 1000GT file which should now no longer be italic.

Close rF2 and relaunch. You should now be able to enter the server.

Thank you very much Joseph, this has successfully worked for a couple of people now.

IF YOU ARE A DRIVER WILLING TO BE INTERVIEW BEFORE THE QUALIFYING SESSION, PLEASE ENTER THE GREEN ROOM AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT PRACTICE. WE WILL BRING YOU INTO THE COMMENTARY BOOTH WHEN WE ARE READY.

WE WILL ALSO HAVE INTERVIEWS AT THE END OF THE RACE, SO AGAIN, FEEL FREE TO ENTER THE GREEN ROOM AT ANY POINT AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE RACE UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE STREAM.

Can confirm that the manual fix worked, however, the custom skins file is no longer there on the Dropbox site. so hoping that isn't an issue once entered the server
The required skin pack (v2.03) can be downloaded via the second link that @Joseph Wright has provided; the skin pack in the first link (v2.01) is old, and no longer needed, therefore it has been removed. :) There should be no issues once you enter the server.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Apologies for all of the issues this morning with accessing the server, and downloading the required content. The server mod was updated yesterday to add the Safety Car, and for those of you who do not already have this component the game would usually download and install it automatically upon joining the server. Unfortunately, and rather inconveniently, the GetMod service appears to be unavailable this morning, which is incredibly frustrating and explains why some of you have been seeing errors when logging in to the server. Without this service resources cannot be automatically downloaded via the game. Hopefully this problem will be resolved soon. Meanwhile, I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you to @Joseph Wright and @Matt Le Gallez for sorting this out and providing the download links to the necessary component files in my absence. :)

Ahh first stint done. Sorry that guy behind me early in the race, I was not trying to defend, I had a contact with the wall and was deciding if pit for repair or not, changed my mind in the last moment so looked like defending.

Also scary moment when the leaders went to lap me and rF2 decided to get that purple bar on max for a second. Hate this bug
