The Industry leading Sim Racing Expo team have confirmed a partnership with Porsche for 2017, establishing further ties between sim racing and the historic German brand.

For those of you unfamiliar with the annual Sim Racing Expo held during the German round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at the Nürburgring, the weekend is one of the key industry events for Sim Racing fans and insiders alike. With plenty of new software and equipment on show as well as varying levels of presence from many of the most prominent sim racing development teams, the weekend is a great opportunity for the general public to immerse themselves in the world of virtual racing simulation.

Heading into its fourth event, the Expo is held right in the heart of the German Grand Prix hosting Nürburgring GP-Strecke circuit, running for two whole days over the weekend of September 15th - 16th, and contains a number of sim racing related activities and events.

As something of a indication of the rate of growth for the Expo, 2017 marks the first occasion such a prestigious brand as Porsche have agreed to come onboard as official partner to the series. Offering official support to the Expo itself, the organisers hope the latest big name signing can help further expose sim racing to the wider general public, and help grow our wonderful hobby.

With their cooperation the partners join forces and increase the popularity of Simracing even more. Moreover, the promoter managed to win over one of the most successful brands in racing. Marc Hennerici, Promoter and Head of the SimRacing Expo, states: „We are currently experiencing a real boom in e-sports, that also has a huge impact on real motorsport. Today hardly any professional young race driver can go without simulation when preparing for races.

That’s why we are highly delighted to have found the best possible partner for the SimRacing Expo in Porsche, since they are a worlwide renowned brand with a long tradition in motorsport. We also take Porsche’s interest in our event as a very positive sign for how close race simulation is to reality. Through the cooperation with Porsche we will reach a broader public in the future and can raise the interest towards SimRacing even more.“
