2013 DTM Season

Complete domination by BMW cleaning out the top 3 places :)
Could have had a top 5 cleanout if they had put the softer compound on instead.

Awesome performance by MTEK, being a new team and snatching 2nd and 3rd.

Could have had a top 5 cleanout if they had put the softer compound on instead.

Awesome performance by MTEK, being a new team and snatching 2nd and 3rd.

Could have also been only a top 2, if Wittmann would have got a penalty for pushing Mortara into the anti-cut curbs that got him a puncture :)

There were also some horrible pit-stops for the Abt Audi-Team today which you really can't afford anymore imo
But it's great to see Rockenfeller coming back from far behind today, as he's the only non BMW with a fighting chance for the title atm

Awesome race today! Rocki is the master on soft-tires :)

1) Paffett, 2) Rockenfeller, 3) Vietoris

Also first points for Juncadella and Spengler flipping off Ekström on the s/f line^^

I think will Audi will clearly work for Rocki now the rest of the season, just like they did 2 years ago with Tomczyk.

Well that was a weird race. I had no idea where anyone was until they all crossed the finish line.
Turns out that even after everyone had crossed the line it still wasn´t clear who came out on top.

Ekström´s win taken away from him, and gets fined 1,000 EUR for not putting on the wheel while in parce ferme.
Paffet and Mortara gets a 2 race-ban and 5-place grid penalties for what i assume is the next race.

Seems strategy this season is a bit of a hit and miss in some circuits.
One wrong move and you´ll be fighting to get into the top 10.
And vice versa, the right call for a backmarker could end up being a podium at the end of the day.

Hopefully we get at least one strong driver from each brand throughout the season.
I guess right now that would be Spengler, Paffett and Rockenfeller.

This is the official DTM.com statement:

My translation: Edoardo Mortara (Audi) and Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) have been given penalties for their collisions in the end of the 5th round of this year's season at the Norisring in Nürnberg. Those penalties, though are set out on probation.
The stewards issued a 5-place grid penalty to both of the drivers who had collided twice in Nürnberg before their DNF's. The penalties will only come into effect when one of the drivers violates the rules within the two-race-probation.
